"Started from the bottom now we here!"

That's my LevelUp experience in 7 words (thanks Drake).

→ I wrote ads, carousels, and web copy
→ I ideated, directed, and acted in reels
→ Revised follow-up and sales messages

Here's my journey flow, continued from the last section.

B2B sales rep → "operations guy" → copywriter → director → actor.

My experience was nothing short of cwazyy (LevelUp folks would get it)!

For the person reading, I'll tell you something.

If your life lacks excitement, join a startup.

It won't be the rainbows and sunshine you want but a rollercoaster you need!

You'll get to go through the full range of human emotions.

It's an experience you will neither regret nor remember.

This reminds me of a quote by Colson Whitehead.

"What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!"

Perfectly sums everything up! 😆

Senior Copywriter

B2B sales rep → "operations guy" → ad producer.

Let me tell you about my first "startup rollercoaster" experience.

I was initially hired as a B2B sales rep.

I was made to acquire placement partners for the product line "video editing".

People sign up → Learn video editing → Get placed.

That was the user flow (or at least what was planned) but you know the saying.

Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Reality had other plans for our startup so I quickly shifted to operations.

→ Solved queries from the shadows
→ Learned to use multiple CRM(s)
→ Ensured high user satisfaction

Life Summary → I went from "copywriter" → B2B sales rep → "operations guy". 

While I jumped around fields, my eye was always locked on writing.

That "eye" was rewarded one day as an opportunity came up.

My senior was filled with work so I volunteered to take over the ads.

The rest is history.

Since then, I've:

→ Acted on 50+ ads (crazy stuff)
→ Ideated and written 100+ ads
→ Directed around 95% of them

I learned an important life lesson here:

The world is a very giving place.

It will give you everything you want (and more) but only if you ask for it.

I'll conclude with a quote from the bible.

"Seek and you will find" - Matthew 7:7-8

The universe will lead you to water..

Whether or not you drink it, is up to you!

Global Brand Growth

3 months of working here felt like 3 years.

The journey was no short of an adventure!

→ I handled 4 different LinkedIn accounts
→ I boosted total engagement by 1.5 - 3x
→ I had a post go viral on LinkedIn news

Before I started, I only treated LinkedIn as a hobby.

I wrote random stories, shared selfies, and took everything lightly!

But when I started here, I had to take it seriously (as one of the clients was a full-fledged LinkedIn coach).

My knowledge combined with his experiences opened my symbolic "LinkedIn eyes".

I never saw the platform the same way again.

I learned all the niche tips, tricks, and tactics used by the top creators.

While my time here wasn't great (towards the end), I'll never forget this experience.

I wouldn't be where I am without it.

It was my first leap into the LinkedIn world, and for that - Global Brand Growth will have a place in my heart.

"I'm throwing you in the middle of the ocean."

"You've got to learn how to swim on your own".

Those were the words of my reporting manager when I started as a writer.

Looking back, I don't blame him!

AuditCue's niche was GRC (governance, risk, and compliance).

It dealt with standards like SOC 2 and ISO 27001. 

For a fresher like me, there was no way he could simplify everything.

He did his best but the heavy lifting was on me.

So I started.

→ I devoured blogs and articles of CISOs
→ I binged hour-long videos and podcasts
→ I stalked LinkedIn pros (Christopher Paris was my fav!)

When the learning dust settled, it was time to write.

"What's the worst that could happen" I thought as I opened the doc.

Everything else was history.

→ I learned to use ChatGPT (the right way)
→ I wrote 1000 word blogs on 3 standards
→ I mastered "research without wasting time"

Saying "I was a new man when I left" would be an understatement.

AuditCue taught me how to adapt more than anything else.

And that's a skill I'll carry forever!

Marketing Intern

AIESEC in India

I joined AIESEC with two "traits". 

An empty mind and a desire to improve.

Both were rewarded by the time I left.

I ended up:

→ Gathering contacts from 7+ countries
→ Attending dozens of sales (or IR) calls
→ Partnering with 10+ fellow committees

Aside from this, I also got to spearhead a project teaching children soft skills in rural areas. 

While we taught many things like what "languages" are, and why education is important, the best part came when we taught them to paint.

Witnessing their tiny smiles as they expressed the artist inside them warmed my heart.

My "term" (as they say in AIESEC) was no short of adventures.

While I wouldn't rate it as a "great" experience, it definitely brought me out of my shell.

For that, I owe AIESEC my gratitude.

Junior IR manager 

Cover It Up

This was my first whirl at marketing and copywriting.

It was an interesting 3 months.

- Ran influencer marketing campaigns
- Wrote product descriptions and blogs
- Research leading Indian D2C companies

I must say → I wasn't great at this "writing" thing.

My idea of copywriting was:

- Using unnecessary Jargon
- Solving "perceived problems"
- Being aggressive and abrasive

What else would you expect from me?

I learned from half-baked influencers. Not writers.

Anywhoos, I didn't go far but it was a fun ride.

It was my first step into the writing world.

For that very fact, I'm grateful for CoverItUp!
