Performance is not primarily a skill issue.
It’s a state issue.

And state is biological.

Neuroscience is clear:
When the nervous system is regulated,
the prefrontal cortex — responsible for strategic thinking, creativity, emotional regulation, and decision-making — functions optimally.

When someone is under chronic stress,
the amygdala (threat detection system) becomes dominant.

When that happens:
• Cognitive flexibility decreases
• Risk tolerance narrows
• Long-term planning weakens
• Error rates increase

That’s not mindset theory.
That’s biology.

Now layer in organisational data.
Gallup’s 2023 State of the Global Workplace report found:
• Only 23% of employees are engaged
• 59% are “quiet quitting”
• 18% are actively disengaged

The estimated global productivity loss?
$8.8 trillion annually.

That is not a competence crisis.
It’s an ecosystem crisis.

The WHO classifies burnout as an occupational phenomenon resulting from chronic workplace stress that has not been successfully managed.
Harvard Business Review repeatedly highlights psychological safety as one of the strongest predictors of high-performing teams.

Not pressure.
Not incentives.
Not tighter KPIs.

Psychological safety.

As a leader let that sink in... 

What it means to me?

State precedes output.
Same role.
Same talent.
Different internal regulation.
Completely different results.

Yet most leadership models ignore this entirely.

We still attempt to solve performance problems
with behaviour correction and more pressure.

If you want higher output,
you don’t start with tasks.

You start with conditions.

Because you don’t lead roles.

You lead ecosystems and ecosystems have so many more parts than just what you see within the role scope.

A lot of people are talking about anger right now.

Sacred rage.
Controlled rage.

“Let it out.”

And look… I get it.

Emotion is energy in motion.
There’s a lot to be angry about.

People are realising that a lot of what they’ve been told
to trust in… was an illusion.

But here’s where I think we get it wrong:

Screaming into a pillow.
Punching a bag.
Raging at the moon.

That isn’t integration.

Yes, it can be release.
Yes, it can be a catalyst.

But a catalyst is a starting point.
Not the destination.

Because if the method requires you to externalise first,
you’re still outsourcing your power.

At its core you’re saying:

“I can’t shift this unless I get it out of me.”

That’s not sovereignty.
That’s dependence.

Anger is only “sacred” when it becomes functional.

When it gets alchemised.

Alchemising isn’t performance.

It’s transformation.
It’s an internal process.

No shift in the external world required.
No audience.
No ritual as a substitute for mastery.

It’s being able to:

Feel the anger.
Hold it.
Shape it.
Guide it.

Not suppress it.
Not explode it.
Steer it.

Anger is power.

But unintegrated power is dangerous.

It doesn’t create change.

It creates collateral.

There comes a point
where vision means bugger all
if there’s no structure under it.

You can talk purpose.
Talk impact.
Talk leadership.
Talk freedom.

But if your life is still built on shaky ground,
if one bill, one setback, one shift in the economy
throws you back into survival…
then the truth is
you don’t have stability yet.

You have hope sitting on top of pressure.

And that pressure leaks everywhere.
Into your body.
Into your relationships.
Into your leadership.
Into your ability to think clearly and move cleanly.

This is where a lot of people are at right now.
They can feel the world shifting.
They can feel the old systems tightening.
They can feel the cost of living, the instability, the uncertainty.

And still…
most people are doing nothing different.
Still relying on the same fragile structures.
Still hoping the same system that created the pressure
will somehow save them from it.
It won’t.

At some point,
you have to build.

Not from panic.
Not from hype.
Not from fantasy.
From responsibility.
From leadership.

From the understanding that provision, structure and stability
are part of the work too.

That’s a big part of why I’m building what I’m building around the Decentralised Wealth Academy.

Because people don’t just need motivation right now.

They need real pathways.
Real tools.
Real conversations.
Real alternatives.

Not everyone is ready for that.

Pressure is not a performance strategy.
It’s a short-term stimulant.

And stimulants always wear off.

The Yerkes-Dodson Law (1908) demonstrated that performance increases with stress only up to a point.

After that threshold, performance declines.

Not philosophically.

Physiologically.

Prolonged stress impairs: 
• Working memory
• Executive function
• Decision quality

Stanford research has consistently shown chronic stress reduces cognitive flexibility and problem-solving capacity.

McKinsey’s post-2020 workforce studies show burnout correlates directly with: 
• Lower productivity
• Increased absenteeism
• Higher attrition

Yet most leadership models still default to pressure when output drops.
More oversight.
More urgency.
More escalation.

Pressure can create compliance.
It does not create ownership.

And ownership is what scales.

In physics, sustained compression destabilises structures.

In biology, chronic stress dysregulates systems.

In business, unmanaged pressure erodes capacity.

High performance requires: 
• Regulation
• Recovery
• Clarity
• Psychological safety

Pressure is a tool.
It is not a foundation.

If effort alone created excellence,
burnout wouldn’t exist.

📌 Leadership question:

Are you increasing pressure
because performance is low…

Or because structure is unclear?

The numbers are wild:
The top 1% now own around 45–47% of all global wealth. 

Billionaire wealth grew by $2 trillion in 2024 alone — about $5.7 billion a day, while the number of people in poverty has barely shifted since the 1990s. 

The top 0.001% now hold more than three times the wealth of the poorest half of humanity.

These aren’t just stats.
They’re a mirror.

They confirm what a lot of people already feel:
“The game is rigged.”

And yes — the board is tilted.
Rules are written by those at the top.
Assets are designed to flow upwards.
But if you stop there, you freeze.

You either:
Numb out and distract yourself
Rage online and change nothing
Or spiritually bypass and float above it all

None of those build anything.

You’re not here to pretend the system is fair.
You’re here to remember you’re still a creator inside it.

That starts small and very real:

Owning your time a bit more
Owning your skills at a deeper level
Owning a piece of land, business, infrastructure or community over time
Owning your state, so you don’t sell out your values in a panic

Love is not a retreat from the world.
It’s the fuel to build a different one.

One of the most common things I hear on calls:

“I feel unsupported.”
“I’m alone.”
“No one gets me.”
“No one is there for me.”

And almost every time, I ask one question:

How do you want to be supported?

Silence.
Most people don’t know.

And if you don’t know what support looks like for you…
how are the people around you supposed to?

We expect mind reading.
“They’ve known me forever.”
“A good partner would know.”
“A real friend would just get it.”

But here’s the reality:

People will default to supporting you
in the way they like to be supported.
And those two are rarely the same.

So what happens?

They offer practical advice when you wanted presence.
They give space when you wanted reassurance.
They try to fix when you wanted to be heard.

And then the stories start:
“No one sees me.”
“No one ever checks in.”
“No one understands.”

But the people around you are either:
Supporting you the way they would want support
Supporting you in the way that feels emotionally safe for them

If you’ve never articulated what support looks like for you,
you haven’t actually given them the opportunity to succeed.

Especially in couples.
“He should just know.”
“She should just feel it.”

Most people aren’t mind readers.
Lack of communication creates grey space for projection.
Expectation without articulation breeds resentment.
How I wanted to be seen by Elise when we first met is not how I want to be seen now.

If I hold the belief that she should “just know”
as I evolve…
I fail us both.
Support is relational leadership.

So if you feel unsupported, ask yourself:
What does support actually look like for me?
Have I clearly communicated that?
Have I made it easy for others to support me… or difficult?

You cannot resent people for failing a test you never told them they were sitting.

A lot of people treat manifestation like acquisition.

Like you’re trying to pull something in from “out there”.

"Calling it in" 

But If we look at the word itself and its etymology

It is less summoning and more the act of revealing what was hidden. 

Think about it from a practical perspective.

A manifest is a record of what’s on a vessel.
What’s already on the ship.
What’s already present.

And that’s the turn:
You are the vessel.

So manifestation, in its mature form, isn’t you begging reality
to hand you a different life…
It’s you revealing what’s already on board.

Your design.
Your wiring.
Your gifts.
Your thresholds.
Your capacity to lead.
Your ability to create.
Your ability to receive.

Most of what we call “manifestation blocks”
aren’t about not having enough power.

They’re about living out of distortion.

Because the moment you try to be someone else,
to mimic someone’s path, energy, pace, personality, business model, brand…

You’re not just changing strategies.
You’re subtly rejecting your own blueprint.

You’re behaving like the intelligence that made you
didn’t know what it was doing.

Which is a wild position to hold…
because it assumes your truest self is insufficient.

And that’s why manifestation often fails:
not because you don’t want it badly enough,
but because you’re trying to manifest from a self
that isn’t even yours.

The work isn’t to “become worthy”.
The work is to stop abandoning what’s already true.

To remove the noise.
To dissolve the pressure to perform.
To stop editing your nature.

Because when you’re actually yourself,
you’re coherent.

And coherence makes things… manifest.

So here’s the real question:
What’s already in you that you’re not living yet?

One of the biggest fears leaders rarely admit:

“If I truly develop my team, they might leave.”

But clarity does not weaken organisations.
It refines them.

Patrick Lencioni’s work on organisational health highlights clarity and alignment as foundational to high-performing teams.

When clarity increases: Misalignment becomes visible.

That is not dysfunction.

It is refinement.

Biblically, the principle is simple:

“You will know them by their fruit.”

Growth reveals fruit.

When you cultivate people properly: 
• Some expand into leadership 
• Some realise they are misaligned 
• Some outgrow their role

Retention without alignment creates stagnation.

Alignment without fear creates coherence.

Strong ecosystems do not cling.

They adapt.

The leaders who attempt to trap people in roles often create: 
• Quiet resentment 
• Declining ownership 
• Cultural erosion

The leaders who cultivate growth create: 
• Cleaner structures 
• Higher fit 
• Stronger long-term teams

Leadership is not about holding people.

It is about refining fit.

And refined fit compounds performance.
