I recently had the opportunity to interview Itamar Golan, co-founder and CEO of Prompt Security, whom SentinelOne recently acquired.

🛡️ Open-weight AI models that block single attacks collapse under the weight of an adversary's conversational persistence. 

💡 That's one of several key insights from Cisco's recently published paper "Death by a Thousand Prompts: Open Model Vulnerability Analysis" by Amy Chang, Nicholas Conley, Harish Santhanalakshmi Ganesan, and Adam Swanda.  

Additional insights include: 

📣 The persistence gap is massive: 87% block rate on single prompts collapses to just 8% under multi-turn attacks. That's a near-tenfold swing from 13% to 92% attacker success.

🦾 It's not sophistication, it's stamina: Models fail against conversational persistence, not exotic techniques. Attackers keep probing, reframing, and escalating as part of their multi-turn attacks.

⚔️ No single defense works: Attack success rates are consistent across all techniques tested; some models (Mistral, Qwen) showed 70+ percentage point gaps between single and multi-turn
