It’s a great reminder that the extensions matter just as much as the hero. Different POVs can deepen the story, reveal new layers, and expand the world around the campaign. Well done. 

Side note: I walked into a GAP for the first time in at least two decades a couple weeks ago… and walked out with $300 worth of denim. It's all working.

Sometimes the best moments are unplanned. SXSW day one started with catching up with my main man Evan Marshall. Then led to a curated dinner with a small, select group of interesting people. Then led to a Quest Love after party at SoHo — thank you, again, Evan, for the iykyk invite), deep talks and dancing with the most badass CMO women, that I will be supporting while they are speaking today and Sunday. And no, there are no pics. Because sometimes the most memorable moments come when you are listening, dialed in, and dancing and not performing for the main feed. 

Thank you Team One for sending me. I love it here.

Now excuse me while I do a Summer Fridays jet lag under eyes mask while I take a disco nap before I do this all over again and go support my queens. If you wanna hang, I’ll be at Brand Innovators today until I’m not and then at FQ cheering Attica Alexis Jaques on.

I get asked a lot how you know if a brand partnership will work. I always respond, a good litmus test is, the easier it is to swap out one partner, whether brand or creator, for the next, the more impact you lose.

If anyone can do it, then what are we actually trying to accomplish? 
Great partnerships are built on specificity, not substitution.

Evan Marshall is a one of one. I met him on Clubhouse (miss those days) and partnered with him on a 6 figure social first Super Bowl campaign for DIRECTV, Nascar for Kickback at the Clash, and I hired him as a gen z cultural consultant for Taco Bell (his topic was how to secure the bag by tapping into culture) and as the Emcee for Google's Gen Z Cultural Impact Summit. He's the best of the best and one of my favorite good humans.

Some social teams will soon resemble Hollywood studios. 

Gap is hiring for a Vice President, Development. “As Gap Inc. expands its entertainment-driven storytelling efforts, this leader will collaborate with production companies, studios, and distribution partners to develop content that elevates brand relevance, drives cultural impact, and creates scalable storytelling franchises over time.” The pay is $300,000 - $360,000 USD.

Ffern, one of my favorite brands on social, already has a Head of Film. Angus Dunsire's bio notes, “At Ffern, I lead the film team, helping to build seasonal campaigns that reflect the brand’s ethos and connect with audiences in thoughtful, imaginative ways.” 

Bilt debuted season two of their social show "Roomies" at Sundance this year.

We're seeing smaller brands build out in-house video studios and hire full time video makers.

I obviously have pivot-to-video PTSD but it's hard to deny that this is the direction things are moving. So much of what people mean when they say a brand has a good social media presence is that they have a good video presence.

My SXSW packing list — or come shopping with me.

My style lives somewhere between affordable luxury and estate sale treasure hunting. So for Austin, I wanted a statement piece and headed straight to The RealReal's boutique on Melrose.

Sustainable luxury is something I've been thinking a lot about lately — and The RealReal feels like the perfect place to explore that idea. Instead of chasing something brand new, it’s about discovering incredible pieces that already have a story and keeping great fashion in circulation.

It’s a shift I’ve also been chatting with my friends at Team One about, who’ll be at SXSW talking about everything from designing for human connection to the future signals of luxury. Worth paying attention to if you’re headed to Austin.

Honestly? I care less about price or labels and more about the vibes.

I was already dressed like an English professor to go shopping––and then I found a vintage Burberry trench. It was love at first sight and the quality was insane. 

Yes, I'm headed to Texas. But in my head, I'm the main character in a '70s London period piece and I have zero regrets.

Career update - I'm officially a free agent.

Like many others, my time at Underdog came to an abrupt end last week after almost 3 years due to organizational restructuring. Despite that, these last few years have truly been the most formative of my career.

During my time there, I signed and managed social-first marketing deals for hundreds of partners, including streamers, cappers, athletes, artists, media personalities, and more, collectively driving in tens of thousands of new users and multiple 7 figures in revenue.

More broadly, our team also navigated expansions from DFS to sports betting, and then to prediction markets along the way, adapting to the complex and ever-changing compliance and regulatory landscapes that come with each space.

I'm extremely proud of the work that I contributed to both individually and team-wide, and moving forward, I'll be looking for the right opportunity to continue collaborating with creators, athletes, or brands to build authentic partnerships that drive real conversation and business impact.
