Lara is a stem cell researcher turned science communicator and today she leads the global team at Scicomwiz – a science communication agency. 

Her mission is to make health and wellness information understandable and accessible to everyone. 

Today, Lara and her team's work has impacted + 6 million lives. 

She has worked with Jessie Inchauspé (GlucoseGoddess), Aggie Lal, Pendulum Therapeutics, Dr Steven Gundry, Dr Kara Fitzgerald, Emily McDonald (Emonthebrain), Gloci and plenty more. 

Her journey into science communication started from a very personal place – dealing with her own health challenges. 

Lara reversed five chronic illnesses through following advice from thought leaders in proactive healthcare in just 6 months time. 

Today, she is fully medication free. 

This experience opened her eyes to the power of understanding and applying the right scientific information in our daily lives. That’s how Scicomwiz was born.

I was Jessie Inchauspé's (Glucose Goddess) right hand regarding science and supported her with:
1) following up on the latest glucose research 
2) translating this science into easily digestible content (Science Tuesdays!)
3) book research of The Glucose Goddess Method
4) white paper writing, data analysis, extracting marketing info driving the Glucose Goddess Method Book

Together, the Glucose Goddess team grew from 600k to 2.5 million followers during this period.

As a bioscientist at Human Edge, I will be providing science-backed biohacks for their new app called Mito. Mito helps users unlock energy optimization and conduct expertly-guided experiments to hack their biological code through science-backed hacks for sleep, fuel, movement, environment, and emotions.

During my PhD, I've created the first-ever 3D model with human dental stem cells reproducing enamel-like tissue. 

This work has been patented as it has the potential to disrupt the field of dental health.
 
The real impact of my research is creating the possibility of 3D-printing teeth in the future. 

I won the 1st prize in the Robert Frank Award competition in the Senior Basic Research category, a globally known recognition for outstanding innovation in dental research.

4 weeks, 5 cities, 2 health events

This past year, I’ve visited +50 places across the globe.

Some for work, some for connecting with friends, some for exploring where I’d love to have my next base.

This past month, I’ve visited:
• Barcelona - meeting Noah Laith for a hike and other dear friends, exploring it as a base
• Riyadh - for my panel on human regeneration at Zenos Health Summit
• Austin - for meeting part of my Scicomwiz team and some very exciting projects with Salim Najjar ! (More soon!)
• Miami - coworking with Natasha Rudatsenko
• West palm - for Eudēmonia Summit

Very grateful and blessed to live this life.

The travel and continuously meeting new people teaches me so many things about the world, life and about myself.

It’s the best mirror you can find.

So excited for the next trips:

• London - for a panel at the growing younger event by Dr Ash Kapoor
• Belgium - for celebrating early Christmas with my family 🫶
• Mallorca - for winding down, reconnecting with nature and exploring it as a base
• Cape Town - visiting Emilian Popa at his clinic Expand Health Cape Town and a little break with my family flying in to meet me there!

But before I started my science agency, I had chronic health problems.
Eating out with friends was a nightmare.

Here's why:
• I was dealing with severe gut issues.
• I felt like I had no control over my body.
• Eating the wrong thing could mess me up for weeks.

I felt stuck and didn't know what to do.
But then I found a way to blend reliable science with understanding my body's needs.

I've been on this path for years now.
It took a while, but I stuck with it and finally got better.

For a long time, it felt like nothing was changing. But I kept at it.
And then everything changed.
My life turned around.

Don't quit so soon.
Things can get better.

The secret to productivity isn't discipline. It's joy.

Here's the thing

I often felt stuck after tackling big tasks, unable to move to the next.

Decision fatigue
Postponing
Uninspired

Until I read about this concept.

It changed my workday.

But most importantly...

It changed my mindset.

• My favorite ice-cream (0.5liter of it)
• Occasional dance breaks with my cat

Here’s what they don’t tell you when starting a business

Everyone talks about freedom, passion, and unlimited income potential.

But here’s what you don’t hear enough:

• Your first version will be wrong. No matter how much you plan, you’ll pivot. The market decides what works, not you.

• Your network matters more than your product. The best idea won’t go anywhere if the right people don’t know about it.

• Pricing is a mind game. You’ll start by undercharging. Then you’ll realize the clients who pay more are easier to work with.

• Most people won’t get it. If you’re building something new in a place where business isn’t common, don’t expect your surroundings to understand.

• Learn from those ahead of you. Surround yourself not just with peers, but with people who’ve already built what you’re working toward. Nothing is new. Learn from their mistakes and save yourself time.

• You will question yourself often. Growth is uncomfortable. The key is pushing through uncertainty, adjusting, and staying in the game.

No one has it all figured out.

The ones who win are the ones who keep moving.

At 18 they told me to quit school

today, I hold PhD in Stem Cell Research

In 2010: I started modeling.

In 2011: Landed my first paid photoshoot.

In 2012: Found myself on billboards across Belgium & the Netherlands.

Then came the conversation that could have changed everything:

Agency: "What’s your favorite food?"

Me: "Pizza?"

Agency: "No more pizza. And school? You don’t need it. You’re meant for more."

In that moment, I had a choice:

Follow their rules or trust my own path.

I chose myself.

➡️  I got my PhD. 
➡️ I built my own success. 
➡️ And yes! I ate my pizza.
