Contracted to CDU to lecture students in Accounting & Business Admin two nights per week in a classroom environment using a variety of teaching aids. Contracted to CDU to run 2 full day MYOB courses every 12 weeks. I am required to prepare for my own classes which include set-up, course layout, preparation of teaching aids such as overheads, power-point presentations, student notes, student relevant information, study materials relevant to the subject. I am responsible to ensure students meet the course requirements, hand in assignments and homework on time, mark assignments and respond to students in a timely and professional manner and take consideration into student confidentiality. Communicate with students from a varied national background and be flexible to meet any student learning difficulties. I also work with teacher assistants who provide one on one support to students who may have learning barriers such as language or literacy. Keep records of student progress and sign off on students competent at end of term and report the student progress to the Department Team Leader.

Indigenous Business Australia

Facilitate a series of 3 business workshops for indigenous potential entrepreneurs. Workshop content include business and personal goals and expectations in business, business marketing and promotion, business financial essentials including pricing structure, budgets, basics of profit and loss reports   and information on how to research your business. A full on-line report was required at the end of each workshop for every participant. Required to book venue, arrange catering, contact participants prior for confirmation of attendance, keep records of attendance and participation, check research and report on progress to IBA Manager.

JR Bookkeeping

Contracted to small to large businesses and sub-contractors in varied industries to complete financial and administrative practices including but not limited to trial balances, reconcile end of month, BAS & IAS, install and setup accounting software programs, payroll, super, preparation for EOY Tax liabilities using MYOB, QuickBooks and other various account programs. This position requires a high level of proficiency in general accounting practices, attention to detail and meeting strict timeframes. As I have completed  my certificate in Accounting and Business I have a good understanding of the Australian Accounting Standards, Business structure and tax obligations. Confidence of all business matters is a high regard. I also provide training of MYOB, Quickbooks and administrative procedures for newly established businesses. Work closely with Management and Proprietors to operate an efficient business and keep them well informed of business and financial matters. I also assist accounting firms in auditing of government agencies in Accounts Payable.

I have walked the path of striving for success, climbing the corporate ladder and achieving financial stability, only to realise that despite my accomplishments, something was still missing. I understand the feeling of emptiness that comes with the constant pursuit of achievement, and the pressure to live up to others' expectations. Through my own journey of self-discovery and personal growth, I have come to understand the importance of finding balance and aligning with one's true values and purpose. In the pursuit of success, we find our why.

My background: 
I was born in Alice Springs and have a passion to connect with our beautiful country. Community is important to me, I engage in doing what I can to uplift and raise our community through volunteering and sponsorships.  Through my business I hosted a mud run for the Alice Springs community to put on a fun event and raise $8000 for the Alice Springs Mens shed.  

Bit about my work experience:
Kylie brings 25+ years of business and finance management experience-having managed small to medium business finances and administration practices for business in Alice Springs. 
Kylie has over ten years' experience lecturing business & finance courses through Charles Darwin University.
Kylie contracted for several years to Indigenous Business Australia to support and facilitate workshops for start-up business, bringing her wealth of knowledge of business practices to support and encourage new entrepreneurs. 

Currently as Managing Director of SWEL - Specialised Welding and Engineering, SWEL is a successful award-winning business having been a finalist and winner in many business awards including Telstra Business awards.
Kylie has built all internal practices for SWEL, including digitisation of finance systems and development of the Integrated Management System, which is triple-accredited for Quality, Safety, and Environment. Kylie is also responsible for the contract management of all strategic contracts.

Kylie was presented with Young Australian of the Year for her dedication and commitment towards the gymnastic sport in the NT.

Most people know me through SWEL Engineering, the company I co-founded and was instrumental in growing into an ISO-accredited, award-winning business. Alongside my role there, I’ve also had the opportunity to work across business management, finance, and leadership — facilitating workshops for IBA and teaching Business and Accounting at CDU, where I shared both theory and real-world industry experience.

In addition to my work with SWEL, I’m now opening up my experience on a consulting basis 🙌
