Principal

Brixton Capital

Primary responsibilities include implementation of strategic business plans, oversight of asset and property management functions, leasing staff, development team, financial analysis and other corporate-level operations, including systems and process improvements.  Duties will also include assisting with the financial capitalization and acquisitions to expand Brixton’s real estate platforms.

The Abbey Company

Senior commercial real estate professional that is part of the company’s executive management team which oversees and directs the day-to-day operations of a six (6) million square foot, multi-tenant, real estate portfolio located throughout California.  The portfolio of over sixty (60) properties is comprised of a wide variety of product types including office, industrial, R&D/flex and retail consisting of over 1,000 tenants.  The company has a 23-year proven track record of repositioning and dramatically increasing asset value. 

Leader of all the investment activities of the company.  Responsible for all facets of Abbey's commercial real estate investment programs; including sourcing acquisition targets, overseeing transactional processes, closing purchases, financing properties and dispositions. Serve as one of the firm's primary contacts for relationships with the capital markets. 

Select transactions closed were; $242M portfolio financing across 22 buildings, $42M disposition of Class A industrial park to institutional buyer, $45M disposition of two, Class A office towers to institutional buyer.

Executive Vice President

Responsible for all the investment activities of the company.  Select transactions closed were; $30M disposition of Class A office tower to user, $37M loan that included a $16M tenant improvement component for a specialized government (GSA) tenant, $13M office building sale that required defeasance of a CMBS loan, establishing an unsecured line of credit from major regional bank. 

Served as part of a four-person executive management team that was responsible for overseeing the daily operations as well as maintaining and developing strategic direction of the company.

Senior Vice President, Acquisitions

Acquired over $100M worth of assets through direct asset acquisition and note purchases through programmatic joint venture with Boston-based hedge fund.

Canvassed submarkets for potential acquisitions, prepared market analysis on a macro level and sub-market basis,  generated multiple letters of intent, created preliminary loan / finance packages for submission to lenders, performed project and market due diligence, site inspections, stabilization / renovation budgeting, and total project financial modeling.

Director of Acquisitions

Managed leasing and property management for four building office portfolio in a Los Angeles sub-market; worked with construction companies in their competitive bidding and construction of tenant improvement and capital projects.  Responsible for the stabilization of $30M office acquisition consisting of two buildings totaling 200,000 square feet.

Asset Manager

Actively managed the updating of ARGUS files for existing 3.1 million square foot portfolio; calculated monthly projections utilizing ARGUS for current portfolio with values ranging from $4 million to $700 million.  Abstracted leases of existing portfolio (over 1,100 tenants) with team of three associates; confirmed ARGUS files and accounting systems were accurate against abstract findings.

Senior commercial real estate professional with over 20 years of experience that possesses a valuable skill set across multiple disciplines (asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing and property management) that is seldom found in a real estate professional.  Having been part of a vertically integrated platform it afforded him the opportunity to excel in these various business lines.

He gained extensive, "hands-on" experience with repositioning and increasing asset value.  Kurt drives execution of all aspects of asset management for deals acquired utilizing a “cradle to grave” investment management approach.  Additionally, he plays a critical role in developing and implementing strategic asset plans that have consistently added significant value.

Kurt is also an active member of NAIOP and completed the NAIOP Young Professional Group program.
