I didn’t realize how much I needed a reset… until I finally took one.
This weekend, my beloved daughter Julia and I spent the weekend together in gorgeous Maine — just the two of us. No schedules, no deadlines, no rushing. Just ocean air, long walks and talks, amazing food, laughter, and quiet moments that felt like deep exhaling after holding my breath for too long and racing to address challenges and changes.

Something powerful and healing happens when we give ourselves permission to step away and relish our time, second by second. The noise quiets. The tension softens. And suddenly, we remember who we are underneath all the doing.

This time together reminded me that resets aren’t indulgent — they’re absolutely essential. They refill the well so we can show up again with energy, clarity, and love.

The entire weekend experience was truly beautiful and transformative — not only for the rich connection, discussions and reflections it inspired, but for the deep wisdom, honesty, compassion and love that each woman brought to our time together and our sacred spaces.

Together we explored what it really means to thrive in the midst of uncertainty — to address our fears, stay grounded, courageous, and hopeful even (and especially) when life feels unpredictable. 

The openness and mutual support in this group reminded me once again of the strength in coming together in safe and loving spaces, to share our deep and honest truths and grow as individuals and a community.

I left feeling deeply moved and grateful — and inspired by the light and resilience of every woman there. 💜

Interesting data here from LinkedIn News and LinkedIn's Workforce Confidence Study that explores people's perceptions of the importance of being seen in person at work (and how that level of importance depends on one's particular role), to help get promoted and increase one's visibility.

Does your job title determine how much face time matters?

While about half of U.S. professionals (49%) say being seen in person regularly is important for getting promoted, that belief isn't evenly shared across roles.

According to LinkedIn's latest Workforce Confidence survey, face time feels most crucial in roles like product management and military and protective services, where 57% of professionals say in-person visibility is key to career advancement. Quality assurance (56%), community and social services (55%) and real estate (54%) also top the list. 

In other fields, the need to be seen is less of a concern. Just 32% of consultants — and fewer than half of workers in accounting, media or IT — feel that showing up in person is critical to moving up.
