I originally pursued medical school in hopes of fulfilling my vision of supporting others with their health and well-being. And my twin brother, Michael, changed my mind.

Happy Sunday!! One of my favorite parts of the weekend is getting to dance with my brother Michael ☀️

Michael has Down Syndrome, and one of my favorite reminders from him is to have fun & not worry about what other people think about you. 

And I know a lot of you (myself included) can get real caught up in worrying about what other people think about us 🫠 

I always admire that Michael chooses to express himself however he wants to and finds humor and joy in the small moments… because life ain’t that serious y’all!

Happy Friday!! What are you celebrating from this past week??

I’m celebrating finally getting my ass back into running again 🏃‍♀️ 

I grew up being a competitive swimmer & swam competitively in college, but since then I’ve been a proud swammer (IYKYK). 

I missed the competitive edge of the sport and signed up to do my first Ironman years later back in 2021… but that run wrecked me so badly I stopped running since 😅

Recently I’ve committed to doing 2 runs/week, and I almost skipped my run this Wednesday because I was so busy prepping for a corporate workshop… but realized that my body was craving some movement before holding space for others. 

Normally I'd make an excuse that I need to prep more or see that it's rainy outside and skip, but I'm dedicated to honor my commitments for myself. 

Listened to a Twilight playlist (we’re finally in HOA HOA HOA season) and finally ran sub 8min pace for the first time in 4 years 💪

Some idiot once told me that I wasn't good enough to work in sales anymore.
 
And guess who it was?
 
My inner critic.
 
That sneaky little voice that's in the back of your head that tells you why you're not good enough, why you're not smart enough, and sneakily compares you to everyone else around you.
 
Back in 2021 when I found out that I had complex-ptsd, my inner critic was running rampant.
 
That pesky voice was haunting me during every work meeting, every presentation, and literally every moment of every day.
 
My inner critic was looking for every piece of evidence of why I wasn't doing well in my career.
 
I'd hear things in my head like: "look at that person's RBF, they definitely think your presentation sucks," running non-stop.
 
It's taken years to learn how to quiet down that voice in my head.
 
The truth is, your inner critic may never fully disappear. But you get to decide who holds the mic.
 
These days mine still chimes in… but rather than arguing with it, my inner cheerleader steps in and leads the way.
 
It's absolutely possible to quiet that critical voice in your head. It's one of the most powerful shifts I get to witness in my coaching clients: watching them replace self-criticism with self-trust.
 
Because when you start cheering for yourself instead of tearing yourself down… everything changes.

I used to always feel guilty about taking time to rest, so rather than feeling nourished or refreshed after a yoga class or walk by the beach, I would leave feeling guilty and overwhelmed. 

In this talk I share some more insights about how to reframe your relationship w rest and how to set the proper boundaries to embrace it 🫶🏻

After my 1 cup of coffee in the morning I'll maybe have 1 more cup of caffeinated tea and then try to get a walk in the sun to wake up, but if I don't get enough sleep I'm screwed regardless.
