I was hired to architect and launch a certification program for the company, and assist with the growth of the knowledge function. Our program launched in 2016, and now we are steadily growing. I generate several key metrics, look at ways to promote the program and infuse new energy through interfacing with our Partner organization, social media marketing, and maintaining a cross-functional interlock so our exams are relevant. I introduced digital badging for our certification program followed by a launch to include special Kinaxis internal badges. I presented our candidates with remote proctored exams in 2020 during the pandemic. I'm presently helping our Strategy office roll out an academic program. I am the corporate SME on all things assessment-related.

As an NISM Advisory Board member, I work with a team of social media professionals to develop and maintain a system for competency verification that adheres to NCCA Accreditation standards and awards credentials to qualified social media practitioners that demonstrate competence through a system of certification and continuing education programs.

Hewlett-Packard

I was hired to organize and galvanize the various certification programs from the software companies HP acquired, and bring them under one umbrella, HP Software Education and Certification. My tasks were to build a staff, create standard processes and procedures, and unify the exam development with consistent and legally defensible means. I also was brought in to lead a social media and advocacy marketing awareness campaign to raise the profile and value of HP Software certifications in the industry. I since created and advocacy hub using the Influitive product, wrote several blogs, built a social media site and drove awareness and volume. This is still a work in progress, but I have used my extensive certification management skills to build a world class organization and drive partners and end users to our training and certification. I also produced an animated video to promote our program.

Brocade

I was the architect of Brocade’s Certification Program bringing it from zero, to over 30000 credentials issued.  I lead the development of our certification exams, act as an SME, and acted as a technical consultant as the program manager. I have negotiated contracts and built relationships with test preparation, exam localization, delivery and fulfillment vendors. We had a 14 year relationship with Pearson VUE. In 2009, I implemented CertMetrics as a credential management system. I handled internal and external marketing, including all social media for Brocade University, as well as program promotion worldwide, to our key audiences and demographics. Working cross-functionally, I set the program’s roadmap. The program was aligned with the company’s goals. I developed certification training, and test preparation materials within budgeted guidelines. I brought the program to the #1 spot in average salary in 2009, and initiated an alliance with SNIA. As a frequent speaker at CEdMA, ATP and TSIA Conferences, I evangelized our work. I am a member and a leader in the ATP Security Committee, and dealt with thwarting any IP theft of our exams. I am featured in two corporate You Tube videos to promote certification in education. I recently produced two promotional certification videos.
