•	UK bed manufacturer:  Applied lean improvement approach to manufacture achieving a productivity improvement of 20%.  Trained an internal improvement team that exceeded their target savings by almost 50% in the first three months.

Corporate Planning Manager - Rover, BMW Group	1999-2000
•	Streamlined co-ordination of the Manufacturing elements of Long Range Plan for Rover Group Ltd across all Rover Group sites, with focus on delivering 20%/annum real terms cost reduction.
•	Led development of inter-company contract arrangements at separation of Rover Group into separate companies, negotiating commercial prices and contractual arrangements for  around 30 contracts with a total value of c. £750m/annum within a five-week timescale.
	Manufacturing Strategy Manager, Rover Group Body & Pressings	1997-1998
•	Developed strategy to focus on core business in pressings, body sub-assembly and tool manufacture of the business unit with a turnover of c. £250m/annum.  This led to approval of major new investment (£60m) and restructuring of UK tooling operations within the BMW Group structure.
	Account Manager / Principal Engineer-Contracts, RGBP	1992-1997
•	Managed joint activity between Rover Group Body & Pressings (RGBP) and corresponding business units within BMW - joint projects, strategy development, people exchanges etc.  
•	Developed process for increased customer focus for Land Rover production supply and new product introduction, leading to improved production delivery performance (60% - >95%), reduced response time and more transparency on new programmes and higher customer satisfaction rating.
	Principal Engineer - Vehicle Crashworthiness, Rover Group	1988-1992
•	Designed and implemented new procedures and tools to achieve enhanced crash performance within compressed timescales by integrating performance specification, computer simulation and physical test into overall vehicle development process.
	Gaydon Technology Ltd	1977-1987
•	Research into thermodynamic and mechanical performance of advanced engines (theoretical and practical).  Introduced new analytical methods using computer-based techniques to enhance and supplement physical testing of engines and vehicles.
