It’s not perfect people with perfect stories that inspire me. It’s real people with real stories with ups and downs we can all relate to… …that's what lights me up and Storytelling at Scale is here to share those stories with the world... But I didn’t always feel that spark. At some point in my 20s I became lost in a career that didn't fulfill me, waking up every day feeling depressed and directionless. I felt no purpose in life and was using unhealthy coping mechanisms to numb emotions I didn’t understand. I certainly didn’t think my story had any value. But then a chronic health condition turned my life upside down and forced me to reevaluate my direction in life. Between hospital visits and tough but needed conversations, I began the process of reflection and slowly started to develop healthier lifestyle choices. I began sharing my journey with my community and through that process discovered the profound impact of storytelling. At first it surprised me how many people resonated with the challenges I faced. Even if their specific story was different, people could relate to feelings of hopelessness, depression, and pain. I started to see that there were lessons embedded within my struggles that others might benefit from, and that I could benefit from hearing the stories of others too. It became clear that everyone has a unique viewpoint that can add value to the collective. More people raised their hands, feeling called to share their own stories. I was humbled, inspired, and suddenly motivated to spread the message of the amazing people I was connecting with. This revelation led to the creation of my podcast, Storytelling at Scale. Our mission is simple: Storytelling at Scale is a forum where guests can share the lessons they’ve gathered from their life experience to benefit listeners across the globe. I believe that everyone has a message that can make a difference in other’s lives, and storytelling is a powerful step in bringing that message to life.
