I am an Operations Engineer with over 19 years experience in the financial industry. I started this journey as a software support agent at a call center and through hard work and capitalizing on opportunities I advanced my career from NOC to Business Systems Engineer to my current position/skills resolving both data (market and Reference) and software issues, evaluating data and applications, managing large mission critical projects, working with developers in the Agile development cycle, acting as a liaison between client facing/business teams and development, and maintaining a staging environment to test applications and changes. My previous position also had me co-maintaining a series of configuration files for a market data system and managing user accounts and service routes. The technology tools I have used include Agile, Jira, Confluence, SQL queries, Wireshark, Git, Splunk, batch files, Visual Studio, Markets (Nasdaq, NYSE, Euronext, LSE, TMX, CME, CBOE, OPRA, Eurex, LIFFE, Asia-Pac markets, FX, The OCC, Corporate Actions, Reference Data, etc.), Bloomberg, Windows/Office, Mac OS, and user and service route management. Light exposure to Python, VB.NET, and ITIL. My passions include resolving incidents, working on projects and seeing them completed, documenting procedures for future reference, and working in collaborative team environments; especially with developers. Major projects I've managed include deploying a new configuration that reduced server counts by half (52 total) for one environment and another that doubled capacity without increasing server counts for another environment. I validated the configurations, did post change checks, and planned the roll outs so that the changes were seamless to clients.
