- Advising on legislation relevant to banking operations, including the Corporations Act, Consumer Credit Code, Financial Services Reform Act, Financial Transactions Reporting Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act, Banking Act, Code of Banking Practice and the Privacy Act.
- Assisting with corporate financing work for a financier including drafting facilities, preparing security documentation and attending to PPS registration.
- Developing and implementing governance, risk and compliance frameworks in the private and public sector, focussing on banking and financial services law, competition and consumer legislation, anti-money laundering/counter terrorism legislation and retail credit.  
 
This role exposed me to a combination of high quality regulatory and transactional work for a mixture of public and private sector clients in a top-tier environment.

- Front-end transactional work, including drafting and reviewing security documentation, attending settlement and dealing with registration unsupervised.
- Back-end recovery work, including providing advice to lenders on compliance issues and enforcement of security documentation.
- Liaising directly with Bankers and Insolvency Practitioners.
- Conducting Due Diligence reviews for Property Finance transactions.
- Presenting internal CLE seminars, developing firm precedents and mentoring graduates.
 
A wonderful initiation as a practicing solicitor, this role enabled me to work closely with outstanding Partners and Senior Associates of one of Queensland’s leading firms, obtaining 2 years PQE working for leading banks and insolvency practices on major lending and recovery transactions.
