Fractional Chief Marketing Officer

Simply Automate, Inc.

Simply Automate is redefining how companies work by eliminating manual, repetitive, and error-prone tasks via Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Not only is RPA effective in improving efficiency, but it is now playing a critical role in employee retention by taking over traditionally redundant and time consuming tasks. Applications include finance, accounting, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics, commercial real estate, and insurance.

Responsibilities included:

•  Designing Go-to-Marketing strategy to efficiently reach target audience, quickly determine average CAC/LTV, resulting in improved profitability.

•  Recruiting marketing and sales talent to augment and deploy GTM plan.

•  Implementing effective CRM practices to facilitate data capture, lead nurture, and attribution.

•  Deploying a multi-channel, fully integrated marketing plan to produce quarter-over-quarter revenue growth.

•  Serving as a member on the Executive Team tasked with the development of financial pro formas to court Accredited Investors.

Packback

Packback is an Ed-tech startup and A.I. powered discussion platform that teaches students how to ask great questions. Featured on the hit TV show, Shark Tank, Packback was named #352 in the Inc 5,000 and the #5 fastest growing company in Higher Ed in 2020.

Responsibilities included:

• Designing and building marketing automation systems to facilitate accelerated top-of-funnel growth, improved retargeting and increased consumer engagement.

• Designing and launching the company's first paid acquisition campaign to improve lead gen and lead funnel conversion.

• Managing cold email outreach; iterating workflow and email copy to improve conversion and meet OKRs.

Marketing Strategist

Gym Sensei, LLC.

Served as CEO and Director of marketing for gymSENSEI, a fitness-based, IoT digital child development program designed to help parents improve their child's self-esteem, self-discipline, respect, and focus via the basic principles of the martial arts.  Key responsibilities:

• Researched, developed and authored business plan to create a subscription-based, direct-to-consumer (D2C) business opportunity for investors and equity partners with a goal of serving 120,000+ families across the United States during the first five years of operations.

• Led the company's Go-to-Market plan including mapping strategies and tactics for Social Media, SEM, SEO, Influencer Marketing, Referral Marketing, Marketing Automation and Retargeting campaigns.

• Recruited key talent for the company including:  Advisory Board and Executive Team members, software engineering team, application security experts, accounting and legal counsel.

• Collaborated with legal counsel in the following areas:  entity formation; copyright, intellectual property and trademark protection; patent application; business valuation and Private Placement Memorandum.

• Researched, developed and challenged the following key marketing metrics utilized in the company's financials:  Cost-of-Acquiring Customers (CAC), Lifetime Customer Value (LTV) and Churn.

Kicks Unlimited, LLC.

Served as CEO and Director of Marketing from 2002 to 2017.  Grew the business from a single location to four locations (including two additional acquisitions), serving more than 10,000 families in southern Wisconsin.

Key responsibilities:

• Developed annual digital and traditional marketing plans to achieve year-over-year improvements in customer acquisition, churn reduction, improved revenue and assisting licensed owners with achieving revenue projections via a subscription business model.

• Researched and implemented Marketing Automation system with a key focus on creating customer onboarding experience ultimately leading to improved customer lifetime value (LTV).

• Researched opportunities to expand into new markets and acquire competitors resulting in an average return-on-investment of 210% per acquisition.

• Brand management with specific focus on developing an effective company/mission narrative, Social Media Management, Copywriting, Direct Response Marketing, Print, SEM, SEO, Referral Marketing, Live Event management and Public Relations.

• Leading all staff development and instructor training activities in order to improve quality of service and Customer Experience; coaching 15,000+ students, instructors and administrative staff from 2002 - 2016.

My path started in the martial arts industry where I was able to bring new innovations to a traditional business model.  Combining marketing technology, and innovative business system provided me the opportunity to grow one of Wisconsin's premier martial arts brands, Kicks Unlimited.

After a successful 15 year run I exited the business and moved onto helping entrepreneurs as a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) where I partnered with companies across the globe to grow their businesses via the application of strategic marketing, data, and analytics.

My passion around marketing and business brokering brought me to my current positions as founder of Collaborative Commercial and Fifth Degree Marketing, bringing the best of both worlds together and redefining how Marketing is leveraged within today's Business Brokering landscape.
