I've just spent a week in Rome.

Not stuck in an office, tied to my desk.

My business didn't stop.
My content continued to work.
Nobody noticed that I wasn't online. 

Years ago, I couldn't step away for an hour.

I'd work early mornings and late evenings, catch-up on important work during the peace and quiet of the weekends, and come back in on a Monday morning feeling absolutely exhausted. 

I'd built a business with me at the centre. 

Without me there everyday, fires started and chaos unfolded. 

I needed to be the "builder", not the "doer".

Today, operating my business looks very different.

In my week away, I had 28 new lead magnet sign-ups, 3 new 1:1 clients book in for a discovery call, and over 11,000 people seeing my content across LinkedIn and YouTube. My members knew I was away, facilitated their own training, and I got to eat pizza, pasta, and try some amazing local coffees in Italy with my wife.

I've built a system where my content is planned, filmed, and scheduled weeks in advance, it converts viewers into leads, and I do all of it without intense sales calls, cold pitches, or CRMs.

It's a lot of hard work up front.

After that, it's all about maintenance.

Be honest with yourself.

Do you get caught up in the classics:

I do. 

There's no "cheat sheet" to growing a business.

I run an education/information company. But instead of pulling people in with the "achieve infinite leads in 17 hours" approach, I'm transparent in that growing a business (and marketing one) takes a long time.

It's why I live by this mantra:

"𝘎𝘦𝘵 1% 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘥𝘢𝘺".

I support business owners who embrace slow and methodical work, with the vision of one day having a thriving business that supports them financially, and supports their family. All through creating videos on the internet.

It's not sexy.

But you either work hard, or you live a hard life.

What do these statements have in common?

"Earn your first six-figures in 30 days".
"Build a sales-focused personal brand with no effort".
"Create content that generates leads in 5 minutes a day".

I'll tell you. 

They sell on short-term urgency. 

Do they actually work? Sure. 

I've spent upwards of £10K to test these out myself. 

But just as fast as you rise, you fall.

The problem with these products, or mindsets, is that they teach and instil fast-track knowledge that in a few months, due to changes in trends/algorithms, they don't work as well as they once did.

The reality is this.

I've been building businesses for over a decade.

There is NO such thing as fast/quick/easy.

Everything you do requires testing, trial and error, and the mindset to turn every short-term failure (because there will be a lot of those) into long-term lessons that you can use to improve yourself/your business/your content.

At least, that's how I've got to where I am today.

Being mindful that there's no such thing as a quick win.

Just lots of practice, patience, and routine 👌🏻

I've been making videos for 15 years.

More people than ever now want to create their own.

But big names are already capitalising on this "movement".

Building editing tools, tick-box courses, and AI-infused software.

These only add to the frustration. 

❌ They give people capability, but not knowledge.
❌ They give people a linear path, but don't teach thinking.
❌ They give people back their time, but they lose their personality.

Tools make creating videos easy and effortless.

Sure.

But arguably, without the "why":

⊕ Why should I make this video?
⊕ Why do I need to create a strategy?
⊕ Why does this video work, and this doesn't?

...every video you create is just filler, fluff, and noise.

You don't need more tools.

You need feedback, accountability, and support from experts who aren't capitalising on a quick demand, but instead have spent many years (over a decade in my case) literally in the trenches within the industry.

By all means, go and buy these products from ex-workers turned viral video-masters in 12 months, or LinkedIn Gurus who've built a bit of a name and now they're rinsing every opportunity to earn a quick buck, dry. 

But without real-world feedback, accountability from others doing the same thing, and support from experts who've been where you are, I feel confident in saying you'll be back at the drawing board in 3 months.
