My dad used to say, “Life is a boomerang.” How you treat people has a way of coming back. It’s a simple rule, but it’s shaped how I work: be human, be useful, and keep your word.

I’m an applied linguist by training, which means I’m obsessed with how meaning gets lost between people, teams, and systems.

Now I work at the intersection of logistics and technology as a Growth Manager at ElifTech. We help logistics companies replace chaos with clarity by building custom software when off the shelf tools don’t fit and spreadsheets are doing too much heavy lifting.

North America vs Europe: different adoption patterns

One thing I keep seeing in logistics tech: the same capability gets adopted very differently depending on the market.

In North America, teams often lean into deeper SDK/API integration earlier. The logic is simple: if data is the product (visibility, automation, AI), then owning the pipes pays off. More control, cleaner telemetry, fewer manual steps later, and a clearer path to scale.

In Europe, lightweight adoption shows up more often at the start. Not because teams don’t value integration, but because the constraints are different: tighter procurement steps, shorter pilot windows, more stakeholders per decision, and limited internal dev bandwidth. So “get value in weeks” beats “build it right in months” at the beginning.

The interesting part is that both patterns are rational. 
They’re driven by budget cycles, risk appetite, switching costs, and who actually carries the integration workload (customer dev team vs vendor vs partner).

So the real product challenge isn’t choosing one approach. It’s designing an upgrade path.
A tiered integration strategy that lets customers:
▫️ start light (CSV, low-code connectors, minimal API footprint),
▫️ prove value (dashboards, alerts, workflow wins),
▫️ then graduate to deeper integration (SDK, event streams, embedded workflows, stronger governance).

Because the real risk isn’t lightweight adoption. The risk is accidental architecture: “quick wins” that become permanent, until expectations rise and the system can’t evolve without a painful rebuild 🌍🔄

In 2026, having only an annual plan and a strong strategy isn't enough. The modern world requires innovative solutions and companies that can adapt quickly. Static annual planning falls short when conditions change every week. Teams that continuously update their plans and respond in real time maintain control.
