Last year, Richard Brandson shared something that stayed with me.

Here are 3 lessons I wish my younger self had known 25 years ago: 

1️⃣ Losing your job does not define you:
 
When I was left with no job, no salary, no investment, little did I know that my lowest point would usher in my most remarkable breakthroughs and Leap Academy.



2️⃣ Comfort zones can quietly become dangerous places 

Losing my dear mum was the push I needed to leap into entrepreneurship. I realized staying stagnant was the enemy of growth. 

3️⃣ Be Visible, not just ready:

Opportunities don’t go to the most prepared. My first job at Intel came through a friend’s referral. Be known for what you do, and doors will open for you.

The first event we had in Leap was in my home.

Small. Intimate. I was just learning.

Years ago, if someone had said the word  “mindset” to me, 
I would’ve rolled my eyes. 🙄

As a senior leader in the corporate world, 
I believed life was either black or white. 
You either get things done, or you don’t. 

What did mindset have to do with any of that? 
Turns out… EVERYTHING! 

Ever caught yourself thinking: 
🔴 “I won’t make it.”
🔴 “They won’t respond.”
🔴 “I don’t have enough to offer.” 
🔴 “I’m not good enough.”

That’s your mindset, and it’s powerful!
 
The most successful leaders believe success is 80% mindset and 20% strategy.
What you believe, your mind adapts to.
And when your mindset adapts, everything else follows. 
There are plenty of people in this life that will try to hold you back.
Don’t be one of them.

The more I travel, the more I realize how beautiful our planet is. 🌏

Not just the places, but the people, animals, and cultures.

It makes me want to live a life that counts.

Because I want to look back someday and see that I had given this life everything I could.💜

In sports, there’s something called overtraining… 


I was in my 30s, training for a long iron-distance triathlon race.
2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26.2-mile marathon run.
So I trained hard. 

Then one day, on a normal bike ride, 
I noticed people who were slower than me, 
started passing me by… 

I panicked. 

And trained even more. 
But the harder I pushed, the slower I got. 

I was devastated. 
The race day was fast approaching and I was getting slower?

I spoke to my coach, and he said: 

“You’re overtraining; rest for two weeks.”

At first, I could not believe my ears, 
What? How can I rest when I have a race soon?

Then I listened.
I rested.
Indeed I came back faster and stronger. 

👉🏻 Careers work the same way: 
When you’re burnt out, taking a break does not mean you’re quitting. 


There’s a reason airlines ask you to put on your oxygen masks FIRST 
in the event of emergencies. 

You can’t LEAP higher when you’re running empty.
It’s okay to put on your oxygen mask when you need to. 
In fact - you will have to.

Slowing down might be preparing you for your next Leap. ☝️

If you keep waiting for this, you might never get started at all…



The “Perfect Moment” ✨

Why? Because it will never come.

All we have are imperfect actions that can lead us closer to the clarity we need.

And the more clarity we have about how to do things better, 

The closer we can get to the goals we want to achieve.

So don’t worry about being perfect.

You’ll get to where you want to go as long as you keep going 🚀

When you’re running fast but not moving forward, it’s time to leap!

Sometimes life forces your hand:
‼️ You lose your job 
‼️ Your role disappears 
‼️ Your business stops working 

At other times, you could still be employed and earning but feeling:
🔶 Stuck and uninspired 
→ Wondering “Is this all there is?” 

🔶 Underpaid and drained
→ Numbing out instead of feeling proud of your day, 

If these nudges feel familiar, don’t brush them off.

That’s your cue.

The bravest move you can make is simply believing that you’re capable of more 💜

Two years ago, I went snowmobiling with my family.
It was completely out of my comfort zone. 🤯



Cold. Fast. Unfamiliar.

No control. No mastery. No guarantee I wouldn’t fall.
Every instinct said, stay where it’s safe.

But I didn’t. 💪

It reminded me of what I see in high performers all the time:
Real growth begins the moment comfort ends.

Your career works the same way.
Most people wait to feel “ready” before they make bold moves.

They wait for confidence. Clarity. Permission.
But that’s not how it works.

The move comes first. Then the confidence follows.
