✨ Monday Motivation: What’s Your Mission in Life? ✨

In my first time to hear mass and have a recollection yesterday together with the family with Fr. Jerry Orbos, he shared his battle with cancer and how he survived with God’s grace, allowing him to continue his mission as a priest.

Many of us have faced medical challenges.
Some may know that in the early months of the pandemic, I found myself in the hospital for two weeks, isolated. I barely made it.

Much of my time was spent in quiet reflection and prayer, as well as watching online masses and sharings of Fr. Orbos. I made sure I shared this with him yesterday and thanked him for helping me make it through one of my biggest challenges in life.

In his usual engaging but meaningful sermon, he talked about the importance of reflecting on our mission in life, especially when we are faced with challenges or when we find ourselves at a crossroad.

In the midst of important decisions in life, we need to deeply reflect on our mission, and pray for guidance and wisdom to make the right choice.

> It’s ok to make money, as long as you share it with the needy.

> It’s ok to make a name, as long as you put it to good use.

> But it’s much more important to make a positive difference in the lives of others.


We all aim to live successfully,
But do we also aim to live meaningfully?

Excerpt from Fr. Orbos’ book Just A Moment:

> Someone once said, “Worry is like a rocking chair.

It gives you something to do, but it gets you nowhere.”

Be not afraid.
Do not worry.
God is in control.
God has a plan >

Let me end here by sharing one of my favorite lines from Fr. Orbos:

“The more you worry,
the more you hurry
to the cemetery.”
