National cancer support charity Look Good Feel Better (LGFB), provides services to help with the physical and emotional wellbeing of people undergoing cancer treatment through group support in hospitals and cancer care centres across the UK, printed self-help materials and online tutorials. Each year over 364,000 people receive the devastating news of a cancer diagnosis. Changes to their physical appearance as a result of their treatment can have significant impact on their emotional wellbeing, causing symptoms of isolation, loss of confidence and low self-esteem. Our mission is to ensure that anyone living with cancer and in need of our services, can access them quickly, easily and free of charge.

As part of the senior executive, I am responsible for the charity's fundraising strategy, overseeing the development of fundraising channels and the development of commercial partnerships with the charity. Please do contact me for further information: ian@lgfb.co.uk

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and part of the Senior Fundraising Management Team,  specific responsibility for the strategic direction, leadership and development of corporate partnerships. Including all aspects of corporate engagement and driving income targets through a variety of income channels including - affinity partnerships, sales promotions, employee / customer engagement and corporate challenge events. 

As part of the innovations team, I was also responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of new fundraising initiatives and cross team development.

Responsibility for the day to day management and career development of 8 colleagues, including 2 senior team managers.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Partnerships and part of the senior fundraising team, I had specific responsibility for the strategic direction, leadership and development of new corporate partnerships. 

During which time I was responsible for successfully leading pitches for COTY with the following organisations; 
Capita, Toni & Guy, Dairy Crest, Brown Shipley, 3 Mobile, World Duty Free, BAA, Poundland, Smooth Radio, Halfords, Grafton Merchanting, Lockton Insurance, Friends Provident, Blue Arrow - totalling over £5m raised to date through these partnerships.

I also secured sponsorship partnerships with M&S, British Sugar, Kraft Foods, Capita, De'Longhi, AVON - totalling over £15M raised to date through these partnerships.

I was also responsible for the day to day management and career development of 4 colleagues.

37 years experience in business development, relationship management and fundraising gained from over 18 years experience in the global outsourcing market and 19 years in senior fundraising roles for 3 national Charities. 

The last 19 years have been spent working in the non for profit sector, specialising in corporate fundraising, partnership and relationship development. Firstly, for Macmillan Cancer Support and then RSPCA. For the last 7 years Ian has worked for one of the UK's fastest growing cancer support organisations, Look Good Feel Better - set up 24 years ago by the Cosmetics, Toiletry & Perfumery Association to help support people living with cancer.
