Yesterday I watched the latest video with Jasmin Alić and Chris Do, and Jasmin said something that stuck with me:
Impressions are something only you see in the back.

And he’s right.

People say:
“You’re crushing it! Your reach looks amazing!”

But reach is down for everyone.
Mine too.

Still, here’s what my last 4 posts looked like:

• 5,303 impressions → 214 likes / 235 comments
• 989 impressions → 77 likes / 91 comments
• 2,472 impressions → 158 likes / 163 comments
• 1,572 impressions → 123 likes / 113 comments

→ Total: 10,336 impressions / 572 likes / 603 comments

That’s proof you can have strong engagement even with low reach.

LinkedIn feels like 20 people shouting directions at you.

Post less.
Post more.
Write long.
No, short.
Be authentic.
Talk in DMs.
Never cold DM.
Be strategic.
Find your niche.
No, don’t niche.
Don’t forget email.

No wonder everyone’s tired. 
The advice changes daily.
And half of it is nonsense.

I get it.
And we are fixing it.

Good writing won’t save your as*

If your design screams “amateur” no one cares.

I blame your typography.

It decides if your ideas get read.
Or buried.

The 10 Commandments of Typography:

1.	Left-align. Readers aren’t solving riddles.
2.	Two typefaces max. Chaos doesn’t convert.
3.	Build hierarchy. Size + weight guide the eye.
4.	Respect whitespace. Tight lines = tired eyes.
5.	Fix kerning. Weird gaps = amateur feel.
6.	Never stretch fonts. They’re art, not Play-Doh.
7.	Use contrast. Gray on gray = ignored.
8.	Match font to message. Wrong one kills credibility.
9.	Stop yelling in ALL CAPS.
10.	Trust your gut. If it looks off, it is.

Make it clean. Make it clear.
Then people will care.

Commandments of Typography

Some LinkedIn rebrands are tough.

Why?

• The brand isn’t clear.
• The proof is weak.
• The visuals don’t match the ambition.

Chris wasn’t one of those cases.

He already had everything:
Clear brand. 
Plenty of proof behind it.
Images that did half the talking.

You know how some people look super cool on their profile photos and banners? Chris was one of them.

And the whole process was super smooth:
– Sharpened his brand messaging.
– Locked in colors and fonts.
– Built the full branding system.
– Added custom designs for consistency.

And that was it.
No drama.
No spinning wheels.
Just a rebrand that matched who he already was and made him stand out even more.

Sometimes the best design isn’t about reinvention.

I was a Jack of all trades.

Master of none.

For 5 years, I said yes to everything.

When I started freelancing in 2010, I was eager:
→ More clients
→ More reviews
→ More money
→ More experience

Logos? Sure.
Flyers, book covers? Send them over.
Websites? Why not.

The result?
Mediocre work.
Because none of these were my real strengths.

In 2012, I found my passion: infographics.
For 3 more years, I still did everything + infographics.

I lost a Fiverr gig with 4,961 reviews.

It made me $129,362.

Then it was gone overnight.

I joined Fiverr in 2012.
They launched in 2010, so I was early.
That same year, I fell in love with infographics.

I started a gig offering infographic design for $5.
Because that was the only price you could set.
Now you can charge whatever you feel is right.

There were only 2 of us offering infographics.
And infographics were hot.
Like really, really hot.
I was getting 40-50 messages a day.

Backlinks. Blogs. SEO.
Everyone wanted infographics.

Before others jumped in, I had already crossed 1,000 reviews.

And if you’re a buyer choosing between:
•	A designer with 3 reviews
•	Or one with 1,000+ and a 3-year track record
You know who wins.

I grew fast.
My prices grew too.
I added upsells, extras, fast delivery fees, etc.
It was working.

Until one order changed everything.

A woman ordered an infographic.
I designed it. Delivered it.

She wasn’t happy.
Not because of the design.
Because she got an F.

Turns out, it was for a school assignment.
She needed to do it herself.
But she submitted my design.
The teacher found out.

She asked for a refund.
Then opened a support case.

Fiverr didn’t message me.
Didn’t warn me.
Just shut down my gig.

Why?
Turns out, Fiverr’s TOS bans anything tied to academic dishonesty.
No essays, no assignments, no “design my school project” type deals.

I broke the rules without realising it.

And just like that, they closed my top gig.
Just BOOM. Gone.

They kept their 20% from every order I’d ever done.
And erased the listing that brought them thousands of new users.

I lost years of momentum.
And a lot of money.
I lost motivation.

The only thing I didn’t lose?
Loyal clients.
They kept ordering.

So yeah, it hurt. But it didn’t end me.

It reminded me of this:
You don’t own the platform.
You only own the relationship.
