After spending 365+ days writing and analyzing LinkedIn content for me and my clients, here are 4 things I would do to sign clients through LinkedIn ASAP:

I wish someone had told me this when I was starting out. Instead, I had a hard road of trial and error. Anyways, let’s get in.

1. Pick a starving crowd

Early-stage B2B SaaS Founders are way easier to target as compared to heavy equipment manufacturers for the oil & gas industry.

You can end up wasting months chasing the wrong ICP even if your profile and content are well-optimized. So pick a niche that’s LinkedIn friendly.

An easy way to find out is to ask ChatGPT. I have tried it and it works well. 

Simply prompt, “Hey, I’m a {your title} and I want to know if X niche is right to target on LinkedIn or not. If not, what are some other LinkedIn-friendly niches?”

2. Fix your profile (You can do it in under 60 minutes)

If you’re under 6-figures, forget branding. Nobody cares.

Go to Canva. Create a new design with the size 1584 x 396 px for your banner. Pick white colour for BG and black for text, or vice versa.

Use this template: I help {target audience} achieve {desired outcome} without {pain/objection}. Plus, add a testimonial to build credibility.

Use a nice-looking, smily headshot with a clean background.

Headline: {title} for {target audience} | Helped X clients/companies achieve {desired outcome}

About: Make it about them. Use the PASS framework (Pain → Agitate → Solution → Social Proof). Finish with a clear next step/CTA.

Featured Section: Add your calendar link + Link to the ‘Case Studies’ or testimonials you have.

And you’re done with your profile. Don’t overthink it.

3. Post 3-5 times/week

- What works:
- Your own experiences
- Problems you’ve solved for yourself and your clients
- Wrong beliefs your audience has/bad advice in your industry

What doesn’t work:

- Generic how-to guides
- Stale, corpo-slop language
- Saying things anyone can say

4. Start at least 30 new conversations daily

This is the scary, most important, and often overlooked part. Because people have the wrong mindset about sales. You need to present yourself as a trusted advisor, not a salesperson.

Lastly, just follow up.

Don’t be so obvious.
Send memes (think that meme “Mr. Bean waiting across the yellow field” as a follow-up.)

If I had one wish granted by the LinkedIn gods, I’d end this debate for good:

2 days ago, a fellow creator asked me:
“Why is the engagement so low on your content?”

My response: “Who cares?”

I don’t spend my time on LinkedIn:

- Posting 50 comments daily
- Tagging big creators in my posts for attention
- Talking about every random idea that can go viral

Does that mean I don’t want reach? Of course I do.
(Psst: deep down, I want this post to go viral.)

But impressions are no longer my priority.
I’d take them as a bonus.

That fellow creator gets 50-80 reactions/post on average (4x higher than me).

I asked her: “When was the last time you got an inbound lead? When did a prospect or client of yours reference one of your recent LinkedIn posts?”

Radio silence for a hot second.
Then she responded: “I haven’t got any inbound leads, but I get a lot of nice comments and impressions.”

See, that’s the problem.
High impressions ≠ Money in the bank.

I’m not saying that money/sales should be your only goal if you’re creating content on LinkedIn.

A lot of people do it just for the fame.
They want to be known for what they’ve achieved in life and business.

And that’s totally fine.

But if:

- Your business isn’t growing
- Clients are churning overnight
- You’re constantly asking for referrals

Then you can’t afford to play the expensive game of impressions.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Get clear on your positioning

Answer these 3 questions:

- What do you want to be hired for?
- What are you specifically great at?
- Who is already demanding your services?

For example:

“Helping women founders save $10,000/year without doing X”

This is better than “Financial advice for C-suits.”

“Helping early-stage B2B SaaS companies scale past $2M in 12 months.”

This is better than “Fractional CMO for B2B SaaS startups.”

2. Fix your profile

I have explained how you can do it in under 60 minutes in my last post (without hiring a graphic designer).

3. Follow a proven content strategy

Content strategy is all about addressing these 3 types of people:

- Unaware
- Problem aware
- Solution aware

Unaware: These people don’t know they’ve a problem. Your goal is to make them aware of it (and how serious it is).

Content Types:

- Common misconceptions
- Industry trends
- Personal stories

Problem aware: These people know they’ve a problem, but don’t know the solution.

Content Types:

- How I do X
- Deep-dives
- Frameworks

Solution aware: These people are confused between different solutions.

Content Types:

- Case studies
- Testimonials
- Client messages showing appreciation

4. Do outreach

Send 30-40 connection requests daily to your ideal prospects.

Aim for at least 15-20 new conversations daily.

That’s the exact process I follow for myself and my clients.

Think rejections are painful? So is asking for referrals, and running the same business after posting randomly for 6 months.

2020: I started as a graphic designer.
2021: Made my first dollar online.

(I sold a sticker on redbubble.com for $1.13. But I never got paid because it was below the minimum payout threshold).

Feb 2023: I switched to copywriting.

Best decision I ever made.

Nov 2023: Signed my first copywriting client.

We are still friends.

2024: Made my first $10k online.

Got top-rated on Upwork.
Enrolled in Copy School.

Oct 2024: I niched down to LinkedIn content and outreach.

Oct 2025: I’m completing my first year as a guy helping B2B Founders & Fractional Execs sign clients through LinkedIn.

Here are 5 lessons I’ve learned about marketing on LinkedIn:

1. Make sure your ideal clients are active on LinkedIn.

If you’re targeting a niche that isn’t active here, you’re wasting time.

2. 5 posts/week + 30 DMs/day to your ideal clients is rocket fuel for your service business.

Don’t sit on just referrals. Aim higher.

3. Post content in different formats.

The same post in a carousel or infographic format can get you 2-3x more impressions than in text-only.

Formats matter.

4. A “No” is rarely a “No!”

I have converted prospects who said “no” initially. Most of the time, they need more clarity, social proof, and belief that it can work for them.

So follow up.
Keep adding value.
Play the long game.

5. Start your email list

You have no control over the algorithm. Your LinkedIn account can be taken down overnight. Your email list is a lifetime asset for your business (if done right).

I wish I knew these when I started on LinkedIn last year.

In reality, it takes more courage than telling your girl you peed your pants as a kid in school.

We are doing most of the things just to assure ourselves that we're not behind and that we're enough.

Deep down, we don't want to do most of the stuff we end up doing.

Alignment is a forgotten word in today's world.
