While jogging on my treadmill this morning, I listened to an insightful podcast. 🏃🏼‍♀️

A geneticist, named Dr. Acharya, said something that really grabbed my attention...

..."If you were able to examine the DNA of any two human beings under a microscope," he said, "you'd notice they're 99.9999... percent identical." 🧬 🧬

Wow! 😲

Dr. Acharya went on to explain how war and conflict historically come from failing to realize this fact of life: 

🎯 Every person is you disguised as another human being. 

Now that's science talking! As for religion, this could explain why we see the same Golden Rule repeated in every holy book:

 ✝️ “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

“Nobody is perfect. We’re all insecure about at least one thing on or about us…”

Today's Marilyn Monroe's birthday.  🥳

Marilyn's life story has always appealed to me. For various reasons... 

...But perhaps what I love most about Marilyn's story is this: 

🎯 Deep down, she feared people only liked her for her "looks."

I can relate. After all,  the “prettiest” girls are usually the most insecure… 

…If I'm being completely honest here, one of my biggest fears is this:

➡️ Once my “beauty” fades, people won’t like me anymore. 😢

Maybe that’s why Marilyn's story + Lana Del Rey’s song, "Young and Beautiful," speak to my soul. 🎶 🙏

Whenever guys compliment me for being “smart” or “talented,” it makes me smile from ear to ear. 😊

Ahh but then, the negative voice in my head always whispers, “C’mon, be serious… he sees you as just another ‘dumb blonde.’ “ 😏

At a nearby Starbucks, the manager refuses to ever let me pay for my caramel Frappuccinos... 

...But in the back of my mind, I always hear my aunt’s voice warning, “Better enjoy those perks now, Hun, because once those looks fade…” 😏

As I always say... whether you're famous, rich, beautiful or have any asset that ATTRACTS people — the liability that comes with it is this: 

➡️ An unshakable feeling deep-down that people don’t actually like you for YOU.

Every billionaire privately worries if she'd still "love" him if he were no longer rich? 🤔 💰 

Every beautiful trophy wife privately worries if he'd still "love" her if she were no longer beautiful? 🤔 🤷‍♀️

In short, if Marilyn were alive today, she'd agree with this:

💡 Nobody is perfect. We’re all privately insecure about at least one thing on or about us…

My gal-pal recently went through a messy breakup. 💔

To make a long story short, she was in a relationship with a professional athlete. 🏈

As for him, not only was he in a relationship with her — buuut also with several other women. 

I know… I know. 🤮

So to help my friend put her heart back together, each morning we started doing positive affirmations together. 🧘‍♀️ 🧘🏻‍♀️

“I am full of gratitude for my life…” “I am enough…” “I attract happiness into my life…” Etc...

...Over the past few weeks, the smile has slowly returned to her face. 🙏

As for why such positive self-talk works, it could be due to this: 

➡️ What we tell ourselves daily will either lift us up or tear us down. 

Everyone has a POV. 

So if we focus on the positive, our thoughts and actions will reflect it. 

For ages, great people have tapped into this mysterious power of the subconscious. ✨

Anytime you hear about “positive affirmations,” “law of attraction” etc., these all refer to the power of our subconscious. 🌟

“Don't speak negatively about yourself, even as a joke,” Bruce Lee said. “Your body doesn't know the difference…”

For this reason, dahling, I strongly recommend setting aside a few moments for positive affirmations. 

My two fave YouTube channels for morning affirmations are: 

• “AlphaAffirmations” (more for guys)
• “I AM Morning Affirmations for Women” (Alanna Foxx)

In short, the great self-help author Robert Collier said it best: 

💡 “Our subconscious minds have no sense of humor and plays no jokes.
[It] can’t tell the difference between reality and an imagined thought. 
So what we continually think about eventually will manifest in our lives.”

“Babe, you’re still coming with us to the Hamptons for the holiday weekend?” my gal-pal asked me, on FaceTime. 👩🏻 📲 👩🏼

I shrugged…

…And then, just above a whisper, I told her I was seriously considering going to a weekend-meditation retreat. 🧘‍♀️ 🕉️ 

She laughed. “You’re joking, right?” 🤔

But here’s the thing — I’m not joking. 😏

After all, for the past few years, I’ve gone to the Hamptons for Memorial Day Weekend. 🛥️

➡️ I’ve attended the SAME all-white (attire) parties. 
➡️ Chatted with the SAME people about the SAME superficial stuff. 🗣
➡️ Sipped on the SAME over-priced champagne and nibbled on the SAME overly-salty caviar. 🍾 🧆

My point? 🤔

As I explained earlier to my gal-pal: 

🎯 If you’re not growing... you’re dying. 

At this stage of my life, my soul is crying for more substance.😢

Seriously...

…Sure, embracing change is always painful. Buuut as you well know — progress is impossible without change. 🙏 

Dahling, here’s something life’s teaching me: 

🎯 Being told you haven’t changed isn’t always a compliment. 😉 

In short, because the only way we can evolve is to embrace change for the better, I agree with Bruce Lee: 

 💡 “Learn to be like water, my friend.”

“A genius sees what everybody else sees yet thinks what nobody else thinks…” 

André, a friend of mine, once told me he visits the MoMA once a month. 

“For several minutes…” he said, “I stare deeply into paintings by Picasso, Van Gogh, Basquiat…” 🖼

“What for, dahling?” I asked him. 🤔

Without blinking, André said something I’ll never forget: 

➡️ “Goddess, never miss the chance to experience genius… in any form.” 

With that being said, I was too young to have witnessed Michael Jordan play live… 

…And I don’t understand physics well enough to truly appreciate the genius of Einstein or Marie Curie. 👩🏻‍🔬

But as Fate would have it, I find myself managing Genius Turner — a real-life “polymath.” ∞

“Reading the work of Genius Turner feels like reading the Da Vinci Code,” Tim Denning once wrote. 

Dahling, given that Tim is one of the best writers in the world — that’s high praise indeed. ✍️ 🌟

In response to Turner’s “Heaven on Earth Code,” Dr. Cornel West remarked: “He [Turner] has a gift for saying complex things in a simple way.” 

Dr. Xepapadeas (mathematician, logician) was so blown away by Turner’s “Pure Mathematics Code” that he translated it into Greek. Ω

As for Turner’s screenplay “The Last People,” one notable filmmaker described it like this: 

➡️ “This spec [screenplay] is so radical and off the scale that I’m unsure if Hollywood is ready for it.” 

I responded by quoting the art critic Rene Ricard, who once said the following about the art world's potential neglect of Jean-Michel Basquiat (another Black genius with dreadlocks): 

💡 "No one wants to be part of a generation that ignores another Van Gogh…” 

I agree.

This morning while replying to my birthday texts, I came across the above quote. 

Genius shared his popular article about the true meaning of birthdays. 🥳

💡(Dahling, if you’ve never read it — Google “Genius Turner birthdays.” Mind-blowing stuff. I’ll share a link in comments section 👇.) 

In the piece, Turner reveals why our day of birth ties into our destinies (life’s path, profession, etc.) 

Take me for example… 

…Just hours ago, I found out Dr. Mary Fazelian and I share a birthday. 👱🏻‍♀️ ♐️ 👩🏻

Aha! I said to myself. No wonder I felt an instant connection to her big energy and positive vibes. ✨

As a child, my mother nicknamed me “Feisty.” 💪

When I asked her why that nickname, she said this:

➡️ “Because you’re a fighter trapped in a Barbie Doll’s body.” 

Lol… 

…When I learned I shared a birthday with Bruce Lee, it all made sense. 🥋

“Your birthday says more about you than your day of birth,” Genius writes. “After all, LeBron James and Tiger Woods — the two greatest child prodigies in sports history — were born on the same day.” ⛹🏽‍♂️ 🏌🏽‍♂️

I agree. 

And so, the question I’d like to ask you is this: 

➡️ Who do you share a born day with? 

When looking over the list, see if you can spot any patterns...

…Remember — success leaves clues.
