We don’t burn out because of big decisions. 
We burn out because of the 500 tiny ones that come before them.
And the average adult makes an estimated 35,000 "remotely conscious" decisions each day.

Years ago, researchers ran a now-famous study on self-control:

Two groups entered a lab hungry. On the table were cookies and radishes.

• Group 1 was allowed to eat cookies.
• Group 2 was told: “Only radishes. No cookies.”

Both groups then got the same difficult puzzle.

The shocking part:
The radish-only group - the one that had to resist temptation - quit the puzzle twice as fast.
Not because they lacked intelligence.
But because they had already spent mental energy on self-control.

Psychologists call this ego depletion.

A subset of that is - decision fatigue. And it shows up everywhere.

One study of parole judges found:
 • Approvals were ~65% early in the day
 • Dropped to ~10% before breaks
 • Then rose again afterward
When we’re depleted, we default to the safest answer: “No.”

Here’s the real insight:
High performance isn’t just about more discipline.
It’s also about protecting your decision energy.

Your ability to think clearly, choose wisely, and move strategically depends on having mental bandwidth - not a longer to-do list.

Here are 3 practical shifts that elevated my performance (and eliminated burnout):

1. Automate your mornings.
 Routines protect your mind from “survival decisions” so your clarity is available for strategy.

2. One needle-moving decision per day.
 Your brain performs best when priorities are singular, not scattered.

3. Decision boundaries.
 Not every question deserves an answer.
 Not every request deserves your clarity.
 Your decision capacity is limited - invest it wisely.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, tired, or unfocused…you’re not "undisciplined.”
Your decision energy is being spent in the wrong places.

How I think clearly under pressure...in under 60 seconds:

1. Slow the body - Slow the mind

One deep inhale through the nose.
One long exhale through the mouth.
(our nervous system resets faster than our thoughts do.)

2. Identify one needle-moving task

Not five. Not ten.
Just the one action that would actually move my life or work forward at this moment.

Clarity loves simplicity.

3. Ask future me (the me I visualize 6 months from now)

“What would the woman I’m becoming choose right now?”
Her answer is always sharper, calmer, and more strategic than mine.
Everything else becomes noise.

This is how I build under pressure:
Not by hustling harder, but by thinking cleaner & clearer..

Branding is not what you think it is.

If you saw your life from the outside, you’d realize something:

La Dame Blanche: A network of women spies who knitted coded messages and gathered intelligence on German troop movements in occupied Belgium.

Hush WAACs: Women who worked as codebreakers and interceptors in the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps, setting a precedent for future generations. 

Bletchley Park codebreakers: From 'Women in Intelligence' - women like Jane Hughes, whose reading of a message led to the sinking of the Bismarck, and Mavis Batey, who helped prevent a major attack on British ships
