When I was in my second year of university, I wanted to leverage my skills to work remotely as I knew there was no guarantee I'd get a job after graduation.

I was a tech-savvy lady, and besides that, I knew I could be financially independent without relying on others.

That’s when I turned my tech-savviness into a career and began my journey as a Virtual Assistant on Upwork


Fast forward to today:(Fully graduated)

December arrived quickly, and I’m still catching my breath from this year.

Since you're reading this, I want to speak to you directly for a moment.

This year hasn't followed a straight path for me

It might be the same case for you.

Some days felt stable and others were straight up overwhelming.

On LinkedIn, I met entrepreneurs who trusted me with their companies, which meant a lot to me. 

And I am grateful for my LinkedIn circle who show up for me in consistent ways.

There were tough days too...

My sister losing her very long-term job. 

Me thinking of going back to 9-5 because of freelancing challenges.

My own burnout from trying to handle everything perfectly.

I had to learn to slow down, and

a few simple choices helped with that... hiring a VA for myself to simplify my routines.

Prioritizing self-care to deliver my best.

And reaffirming boundaries.

I realized something in october that I can’t resist talking about.


Her month was about to be crazy busy with responsibilities.

And she needed someone she could trust to keep her business functioning for only one month 

while she focused on the priorities only she could handle.

So I came in and handled her operations that she could not hold that month.

1 year into my VA journey, he reached out needing help with business automation and project management for his launch.

I did everything.
He loved the support.

I delivered the project and then requested the payment.

He left me on “read.”

I followed up two days later.

Him: I’ll send you the money once my clients pay next week.

Me: Alright sir, I’ll be waiting.

Next week comes.

He went 'MIA' 

He had blocked me and removed me from every site he gave me access to.

I knew I was still a newbie VA, but that day I decided...

I will ALWAYS receive upfront payment. No matter what.

I never imagined a grown man would scam a 20-year-old VA who was just starting out.

But I guess that’s the world we live in.

It didn’t stop me though.

I kept going and building.

And here I am today, still running strong...

I was put in charge of building an interactive survey to capture feedback so we could improve our processes.

The questions were too many (21).

By the time someone reached the main part, they would be mentally checked out.

People's attention span is short.

So I suggested we simplify it.

We reduced it to 4 core questions.

Then I created a detailed version only for moments when we needed more information.

The simplified survey was sent first.

Our response rate went from 12% to 47%. 🌻
