Here's what I've learnt after interviewing 1,000+ candidates for tech roles over the past 20 years:

Technical brilliance means nothing if you can't explain your thinking clearly.

3️⃣ Problem-solving matters more than memorisation:

I value how candidates approach challenges, not just what they've memorised.

4️⃣ Cultural fit drives retention:

Skills can be taught; attitude and values cannot.

5️⃣ Passion shows through:

Candidates who genuinely love what they do bring energy that transforms teams.

6️⃣ Adaptability is essential:

Technology evolves rapidly; the willingness to evolve with it is non-negotiable.

7️⃣ Collaboration trumps solo genius:

Tech roles require teamwork, not lone wolves.

8️⃣ Questions reveal quality:

The questions candidates ask tell me more than their answers.

9️⃣ Resilience matters:

How they've handled setbacks shows their true character.
