The unspoken “I’m not sure I can trust this,” or “This feels too good to be true”

𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞
Use the “Hidden Belief Probe”, a soft, curious sequence to uncover the unspoken:
After a prospect hesitates or seems guarded, say:
“I’m picking up that there might be something underneath this that’s important to you.

Would it be okay if I asked, what’s the one thing you’re not quite sure about yet, even if it’s hard to put into words?”

Then pause (3–5 seconds of silence). Let them fill it.

Most will reveal the hidden belief holding them back.

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬:
- “I’m worried I’ll be judged for my current financial situation” 
- “I don’t want to admit I’ve been making mistakes with my money” 
- “I’m afraid this advisor will push me into something I don’t fully understand”

𝐎𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲:
“That’s completely understandable. A lot of people feel that way at first.
What would help you feel more comfortable exploring this together?”

When you sense hesitation or a flat vibe, deploy the Hidden Belief Probe. 

Listen fully. Don’t rush to “solve.” Just let them name it.

Most advisors treat objections like attacks.

The flex is to treat objections as invitations, signs the prospect cares enough to engage.

When you respond with curiosity and empathy, the objection often dissolves itself.

𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞
Use the “Objection Reframe Response” — a simple 3-part flex:
Acknowledge (validate their feeling, no arguing) 
Reframe (shift perspective) 
Align (ask a question that brings them back to their deeper goal)

Example – “It’s too expensive” 
𝐀𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞: “That makes total sense, price is always a big factor when you’re making a decision like this.” 

𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞:“What I’ve seen with clients just like you, is the real cost isn’t the fee, it’s the money lost in tax from not having the right structure.” 

𝐀𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐧:“Out of curiosity, how important is making sure you're not paying unnecessary tax?”

This keeps the tone neutral, builds trust, and moves the conversation toward their real priorities.

In your next prospect interaction, when an objection comes up: 
1. Use the 3-part Objection Reframe Response. 
2. Write down the objection and your response afterward.

When Alex, a financial advisor with a full pipeline but flat closes, hired me, prospects were disappearing. 

He ran crisp meetings, clear recommendations, solid fees. 

But right after a tiny hesitation, he’d fill the silence with more information. That’s where deals went to die.

I had him listen back to two recent calls. 
We spotted the moment the energy dipped. 

In his next meeting with a dual‑income tech couple, he used it. 
Silence stretched. 

Then the prospect finally said what never makes it into emails: 
“𝐈’𝐦 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐈’𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠.”

We labeled it, normalised it, and offered a risk‑reduced next step. 

He signed the next day.

When you sense hesitation, soften your tone, and say:

Then STFU. Count to 5 in your head. Let silence do the work.

When they share, mirror and label before you solve: 
“Totally makes sense, You’ve been burned before and don’t want a repeat.”

Offer a risk‑reduced next step that matches the fear:
- time‑boxed trial
- small diagnostic
- decision date

𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Use the "𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞"
Do not defend. 
Do not “value dump.” 

Label what they share and ask,
