Author – Your Life Is Calling

Shell

▪️Developing a Reward strategy for Shell’s New Energies global acquisitions (circa 13, ranging from start-ups, Digital, Venture Capital, to IT and traditional Oil & Gas) and implementing appropriate Reward programmes for these small and medium sized businesses, including LTIPs, STIPs, salary structures etc.
▪️ Establishing post-acquisition governance guidelines and frameworks, such as Remuneration Committees.  
▪️ Working closely with senior leaders in New Energies businesses to develop Reward initiatives for new and unique situations to Shell’s traditional business.
▪️ Working closely with the VP, Reward, to manage the Compensation and Benefits of management level employees of New Energies subsidiaries post acquisition.

Reward Consultant

EBRD

▪️ Responsible for providing input to the development and communication of the Bank’s reward strategy.
▪️ Writing Compensation and Benefits proposal papers to share information and obtain approval from the Board and its sub-committees.
▪️ Developing and implementing a vacancy-led approach to the senior management promotions process.
▪️ Leading the provision of Reward consulting advice and guidance to HR and business leaders.

(Interim) Principal, Reward

Willis Towers Watson

▪️ Following the merger of Willis and Towers Watson in 2016, I lead the implementation of a harmonised and integrated, competitive Compensation framework, impacting circa 20,000 colleagues in a global matrix structure across 5 business lines in 75 countries in 5 continents.
▪️ Lead the annual compensation review process for the Investment, Risk and Reinsurance business globally.
▪️ Support the implementation of a new global career framework across the same global footprint.

(Interim) Compensation Integration Lead

Visa

▪️ Pre and post-acquisition activities including job architecture and Reward integration, and Benefits harmonisation following the acquisition of Visa Europe by Visa Inc. in June 2016.
▪️ Manage and develop the full Reward strategy across 21 established and emerging European countries; competitive compensation programmes, market focused and performance related base pay systems, short and long-term incentive schemes and job evaluation framework.
▪️ Responsible for writing RemCo papers and reporting comprehensively on all aspects of executive compensation and Reward change programmes.
▪️ Manage executive remuneration programmes including base pay and short and long-term incentives for new hires, promotions and internal moves. Manage the executive annual review process.
▪️ Integration and harmonisation of existing compensation programmes, job architecture and supporting processes due to a merger.    
▪️ Lead the review of the Visa Europe career framework job architecture to make it agile and reflective of a commercial organisation structure. Implement a governance protocol around job creation and levelling.  
▪️ Develop a robust performance management framework which drives greater differentiation and linkage to compensation decisions and key corporate strategies.

Senior Reward Manager - Compensation

▪️Lead the regional annual compensation activities for example, performance management, job evaluation, promotions, salary and bonus reviews.
▪️ Review and develop effective and consistent compensation structures in line with global initiatives​.​
▪️ Localise and implement global Reward policies and initiatives across 22 countries in Europe and the Middle East.
▪️ Manage the European Global Mobility programme.

Lead, Rewards - Europe & Middle East

Travelport

▪️Lead and deliver the UK Pensions Auto Enrolment project.
▪️Manage the annual performance management, salary and bonus review processes for 3500 employees in over 20 countries.
▪️Manage the global International Assignee programme.
▪️Assess compensation and benefits trends in emerging markets (MEA, APAC and LATAM) to ensure Travelport preserves and enhances its competitive position.
▪️ Manage global vendors, brokers and consultants to ensure delivery of service to cost.  
▪️ Job evaluation and salary benchmarking using Towers Watson, Radford and IPAS surveys.
▪️Support, coach and guide HR teams in over 20 countries on Compensation philosophy and best practice.

Senior Compensation and Benefits Manager

AstraZeneca

▪️Own, manage and deliver the 2011 Reward pay round (Salary, Bonus and LTI) for 1200 employees.
▪️Support the delivery of the Global Commercial Organisation, Senior Leaders 2011 Reward pay round for 500 employees in over 13 countries.

Reward Partner

▪️Support the development and implementation of a major, global HR transformation programme by providing subject matter expertise on the end to end Performance, Reward and Talent management processes.
▪️ Develop and implement a global job catalogue with career levels, role profiles, competencies and capabilities used for recruitment, development, talent and performance management, workforce planning and reward management.  
▪️Own relationship with countries in portfolio (approx.35) with job evaluation and mapping of employees (approx. 25,000) to roles in the new global job catalogue.
▪️Deliver presentations to global and country teams on new processes.

Global Reward Project Manager

▪️ Deliver the end to end Performance and Reward agenda for AZ UK Marketing Company.
▪️ Project manage the design, development and sign off of the annual salary review and bonus pay round.
▪️ Own and manage Performance and Reward programmes and communications.
▪️ Governance of Reward policy and practice.
▪️ Provide consultative and specialist Reward advice as a subject matter expert to HR colleagues.

HSBC

▪️Support the Global Transactional Banking and Global Banking businesses to include:
▪️Management of the compensation approval process,
▪️Advice the business on compensation market trends and data analysis,
▪️Provide quality salary benchmarking analysis and interpretation using internal comparatives and external market surveys.
▪️Advice and guide HR colleagues on Reward related policies and processes such as new hires, promotions, transfers, secondments, non standard and off cycle reward issues.
▪️Assist in the management of the McLagan and Towers Perrin annual survey programmes.

Global Reward Management (Interim Role)

Xerox

▪️Owned and managed a European wide project, following a major organisational restructure. Activities involved:
- Creating role profiles for the top 200 newly created roles across Xerox Europe (8 countries),
- Developing a competency framework for evaluating performance management and identifying developmental opportunities,
- Job analysis, including evaluating, grading and matching of new roles,
- Creating job descriptions and developing role profiles for each of these roles.
▪️ Conducted a review of the organisation’s executive compensation structure, including expatriates and international assignments, to ensure that reward strategy remains competitive and up to date.

For almost three decades I worked in the corporate world. I had great jobs and a good life on paper, working with amazing people in enriching environments but somewhere in that dream, I lost myself. I knew that there was more for me. I hadn’t explored my dreams or discovered the possibilities of who and what I could be. But I didn’t have the courage to disrupt the status quo, to believe in myself, so I stayed stuck, feeling empty, exhausted and unfulfilled.

Then one day, in a meeting, I heard a quiet voice in my head say, 'Not today'. It hit me that no-one was coming to rescue me. It was my responsibility to take control of the direction of my life. That day I answered the call and began my journey of rediscovering who I am,  reigniting my lost spark, regaining my power and reshaping my future. Today I am an author and global speaker (I have shared the stage with the legend, Les Brown). I am also the Founder of Ziano Mindspa, inspiring and empowering mid-senior level professional women who feel unfulfilled, wanting to do something more meaningful. I help them see more their potential, power and possibilities, reignite a lost spark and develop a renewed purpose so they can create a life that is rewarding and authentic.   

Sometimes we put our dreams on hold, waiting for the perfect time. Sometimes we disqualify ourselves from living our best life, discounting our gifts, talents and abilities. So we think small, we act small, we play it safe. Or worse, we don’t even play at all.
