I moved to Stockholm for a 6-month internship... nearly 8 years ago 🇸🇪


At 23, I got off a plane with two big suitcases and a very "neat" little plan. 

Fast forward to now, and I’m still here. 
But I’m definitely not the same person who landed in 2018.

Now, I’m: 
✔ Running my own design business 
✔ A dual British-Swedish citizen 
✔ A homeowner 
✔ In my early thirties 
✔ Getting married in 3 months! 🥂

Looking back feels soooo surreal. 

I never expected this to be my life, and I’ll be the first to tell you: getting here wasn't easy. 

I’ve had to learn some brutal, messy lessons while building a life and a business in a foreign country ↴

1. Your "plan" is mostly a suggestion. Life has a habit of knocking your neat little goals sideways. That “six months” turned into a whole new life. I’ve learned that leaning into the uncertainty is where the growth really happens.


2. Hustle is a trap. When I started my business, I thought doing everything myself and working crazy hours was the only way. It wasn't. I was just exhausting myself. Real growth comes from strategy, boundaries, and working in your zone of genius.... not just doing "more" for the sake of it.


3. Growth is uncomfortable AF. Confidence and self-belief is a learnt skill. I just got brave enough to sit with the awkwardness and the "I don't know what I'm doing" moments until they felt normal 😂 


4. Doubt doesn't leave... it just gets quieter. I still have days where I wonder if I’m on the right path. If I should really be doing this... but the difference now is that I don't let that voice control me 💙 


5. You can’t rush the "success" part (and that’s okay). Building a reputation takes time. Yes, we can control how we present ourselves and use strategy to accelerate our growth... but ultimately, you can’t skip this bit. Being patient is incredibly hard when you just want to jump to the "good part," but the journey of mistakes, trial, and error is exactly what builds the foundation you need to actually stay there.


If you’re stuck or second-guessing your path, here’s the truth...you don’t need to have all the answers today.

The only thing that matters is that you keep showing up, even when it feels hard, messy, or downright terrifying.

Because that’s how you REALLY grow.

I’ve noticed a frustrating pattern with coaches who are stuck at the €2k plateau ↴


You're doing everything you're "supposed" to do. 

Showing up, sharing your expertise, and trying to build a presence.

But despite the effort... your income has hit a ceiling.

You're stuck in a loop of overworking and under-earning, wondering why you can't seem to bridge the gap between "having an audience" and "signing high-ticket clients."

If you’re putting in the hours but your website hasn’t booked you a discovery call in months (or longer 🫠), you’re likely stuck in the “CV Trap”

The CV trap is what happens when you build a website that reads like a biography.

You’re attracting lurkers who are intrigued, but when they go to your site to see if you’re the real deal...

They find a wall of text about your journey, your coffee order, where you studied, why you love coaching, and a vague "I help X do Y" headline.

The thing is... 

High-ticket clients aren't buying your history. 
They’re buying THEIR future.

When a lead lands on your site, they have one question: “can this person solve my problem?”

If you make them hunt for the answer... they’re gone in a few seconds (straight to your competitor).


Here is how to tell if you’re caught in the CV trap:

1. The "I" vs. "You" Ratio 
If your homepage starts with "I’m a coach with 10 years experience and I’m passionate about..." - stop. That’s a CV. A sales asset starts with their reality.

Instead of: "I'm a wellness coach for busy, burnt-out executive women." 

Try: "You’re running a multi-six-figure business on 4 hours of sleep, a lot of hard work, and way too much caffeine. I'm here to help you create the energy to scale, without your body paying the price for your ambition."


2. The Navigation Maze 
If you have 9 different tabs in your menu (Home, About, Services, Blog, Podcast, Testimonials, Events, Resources, Contact...), you’re just giving people places to get lost. A high-converting site is a direct path. If they have to click through multiple pages just to find your booking link... they won’t.


3. The "Pretty" Distraction 
I’ve seen people spend months obsessing over the perfect shade of sage green while their headline says... absolutely nothing. High-ticket leads aren't looking for something pretty for the sake of it. They’re looking for authority. The design should only exist to make your message hit harder.


The 5-second audit ↴ 
Open your website right now. Look at the very first section.

If a total stranger can’t tell exactly what you solve and how to take the first step within 3 seconds, your website isn’t working for you (it's secretly sabotaging you)

Because high-ticket leads don’t have the patience to go digging for your value. 

They want to see that you’re the authority before they ever hit "book a discovery call."

When your site is a sales asset, the "Yes" happens before the discovery call even starts. 

But when it’s caught in the CV trap, it's just an expensive roadblock.

Yep, you read that right.

One of the biggest mistakes I see coaches making is trying to make their website appeal to everyone. 

They use "safe" generic language because they’re terrified of turning a lead away.

But the irony is that if your website is trying to talk to everyone... it’s not actually connecting with anyone.

Your online presence has two jobs:
✓ To attract the absolute "hell yes" clients.
✓ To quietly (but firmly) filter out the "hell no" ones.

The goal isn't just to get more discovery calls. 

It’s to ensure that when someone actually ends up in your calendar, they are already ALL in 💙 

They see your value, they respect your process, and they’re ready to GOOO.


My website is a filter.  If you land there and realise we aren't a match because you:

→ Just want someone to design you something "pretty" (without the strategy)

→ Want to undercut my worth or "negotiate" my value 

→ Fall outside of my expertise with coaches and service providers

→ Want to just "hand over a brief" and have me design (I’m your strategic partner, I treat your business like my own, which means I have an opinion on what will actually get you results)

...then the website has done its job. 

We’ve both saved 30 minutes of our lives.


I don't want to work with everyone, and neither should you.

When you’re clear on your positioning, your messaging acts like a magnet and a shield at the same time. 

By being hyper-specific about who I help... coaches and service providers who are ready for an authority-led online presence, I naturally push away the people who just want a quick fix.

This is why I’m so obsessed with strategy before we ever touch a design. 

We need to know exactly who we are speaking to, and who we’re okay with losing.

You want premium clients. 

The kind who don’t blink at investing €5k, €8k, or €10k+ because they see the value in what you do.

But here’s the thing most people miss... 

Before a client ever gives you their money, they have to give you their time.

For a high-level executive, a busy founder, or a parent juggling a million things, 30 minutes is expensive. Like, really expensive.

Before they hit that “book a discovery call” button, they’re doing a split-second mental calculation... 

“Is this person actually the expert I need, or am I about to waste 30 minutes on a zoom call with someone who doesn't get it?”

If they land on a clunky Google Doc or a messy website, you’ve (probably without even realising it) already answered their question.

And I say this with so much love, because a Google Doc doesn’t make you a bad coach. 

In fact, you’re probably the best-kept secret in your niche...

But to a high-level lead who has never worked with you, that messy setup is a red flag 🚩 

It’s like walking into a high-stakes job interview in your sweatpants. You might be the smartest person in the room, but you’re making it really hard for them to trust you with their time (or their business).


If you want more discovery calls with qualified leads, you have to look at your presence through their eyes:

1. The Trust Barrier 
Does your site actually represent the value of the results you deliver? High-ticket leads need to see your authority before they’ll commit to a call. If you aren't showing your track record or how you’ve helped people exactly like them, they’re going to keep scrolling...

2. The "Proof of Stay" I know, I know. You think “my branding doesn’t matter, it’s how good my coaching is.” And yeah, you’re right... but how does a stranger know how good you are? If your branding looks like a random side-hustle, they’re going to assume your coaching is too. Premium clients look for stability. They want to see that you’ve gone all-in on yourself before they go all-in on you.

3. The Friction Test 
Is the path to booking a call actually easy? A confused mind never clicks “book.” If they have to hunt for a link or jump through hoops, they’ll just close the tab and head straight to your competitor.


Your website’s job is to pre-sell for you. 

It should build so much trust and handle so many objections that by the time they hop on a call with you, they aren't "wondering" if you're the one. 

They’re already sold 💙

I’m officially done with the advice that “good things take time” ↴


For years I used patience as a cover for my own hesitation and doubt.

I’d wait for the “right time” to launch. 

I’d wait until I felt “ready enough” to raise my prices. 

I’d wait for a quiet month to finally look at my own business and fix the things I knew weren't working.

I told myself I was being diligent. 
Careful.

But looking back at my nearly 8 years in Sweden, I realise that the biggest leaps I ever took didn’t come from waiting...

They came from the moments I decided that momentum was more valuable than perfection.

I’m getting married in 3 months. 

I’ve built a life here from just two suitcases. 

I moved here as an intern and I’m standing here now as a homeowner and a business owner.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life is happening NOW.

The “perfect time” is a myth I used to tell myself just to stay comfortable in the waiting room.

It’s why I've finally stopped being patient with my own potential. 

I stopped waiting for things to be ready and started MAKING them ready. 

I realised that dragging things out... whether it was my own growth or the projects I was doing for clients, didn't actually make them better.

Usually, it just makes them heavy. 
It stalls the excitement. 
It kills the momentum.

Now, I’ve built my entire business around that one realisation. 

Whether it’s a 7-day website sprint or a deep-dive bespoke build, I’m no longer interested in the slow leak of not feeling ready.

It’s not about rushing. 
It’s about the refusal to stay stagnant.

I’m all for making the move now, so you don't spend another year just dreaming about where you want to be 💙

Because looking back, I’ve realised the cost of waiting another 12 months to finally show up as that version of yourself isn't just a financial one.

It shows up in your confidence. 
Your joy. 
Your fulfilment.

It’s 2026. 

If you’re still offering a surface-level checklist or a "top 5 tips" guide, you’ve likely noticed the silence.

The downloads have dried up. 

Your email list is stagnant. 

And the few people who do sign up never buy.


The thing is... AI has made "information" free. 

If your lead magnet can be replicated by a 2-second ChatGPT prompt, it’s not the valuable asset it once was.

When you give away generic advice, you aren’t proving your authority.... you’re actually telling your dream clients that what you do can just be replicated by Gemini or ChatGPT.

To convert in 2026, your lead magnet needs to do three things your competitors (and AI) aren't doing:

→ Agitate the real problem: Not the surface-level symptom, but the underlying issue that keeps them stuck (and that your offers solve)

→ Prove your framework: It should give them a small win using your specific way of doing things.

→ Bridge the gap: It needs to lead them naturally to the realisation that your offers are what will deliver the real results they crave.
