What is the best mindset for an optimized life?  
 
Let's say that the optimized life is joy and happiness, fulfillment and flourishing.  
 
Let's say that you’ve slid into home base at the end of your life, and you've really gone for it. You've got some scars, some bruises, you’re a bit worn from a fully lived life—and you also understand peace and happiness and joy.   
 
What's the best mindset for this? 
 
Be here now. Be in the present moment. 
 
That is the entryway into that type of life.  
 
And it is so hard to do because our mind wants to take us to other places like: "What are they thinking about us? What if *this* happens? What if *that* happens? What if this doesn’t go the right way?”  
 
And we’re kind of scarred from all the stuff that’s gone wrong in the past and we carry all of that into the present moment and we’re playing this fake game of being okay…. 
 
But if you really want this kind of joyful, happy, and fulfilled life...  
 
The mindset is to commit to fully being in the present moment—to commit to being fully here, now—and you have to practice that. 

Because that is difficult to do.
