“Be the best product” is not a positioning strategy.
What’s more important: clarity or coverage? Most founders choose wrong.

How we help founders suck less at positioning:

Positioning = a choice about who you serve and who you don’t
Positioning = a strategic constraint that drives alignment, not creativity
Positioning = the foundation behind your message, pricing, and motion
Positioning = a reason to win against the default, not just the competitor

Most early teams confuse positioning with branding.
They try to sound clever instead of choosing clear.

3. Do they clarify the default alternative? Yes.
4. Do they signal a clear reason to win? Yep.

❌ Bad positioning: “We help teams collaborate better with AI-powered workflows.”
✅ Better positioning: “We replace Slack and project tools for onboarding teams who need faster handoffs, not more back-and-forth.”

❌ Bad positioning:
“All-in-one platform for scaling operations.”
✅ Better positioning: “For post-Seed SaaS teams ditching Notion and spreadsheets. We give them one operating system for clean data, repeatable processes, and predictable revenue.”

❌ Bad positioning: “The future of financial automation.”
✅ Better positioning: “Series B fintech CFOs use us to automate multi-entity close, cut days off the monthly cycle, and retire the 12-tab manual monster.”

When your positioning is specific:
→ Buyers get it
→ Teams align
→ GTM scales without guesswork

This isn’t branding.
It’s architecture.

We did it ourselves.

The only change?
We narrowed our ICP to SaaS teams between €300k and €3M ARR.

→ Inbound went from 30% ICP-fit to 80% ICP-fit.
→ Close rates jumped.
→ Product got tighter.
→ Impact became clearer.
→ Content got sharper.
→ More of the right people showed up.

It compounds.

Why? Because focus gives every motion leverage.
You can’t build for everyone. Especially at the start.

Pick the right who, and everything else gets easier.

But none of them scale without process.

Most teams confuse momentum with scalability.
They add tools, hires, and meetings, but not clarity.

You can’t scale headcount to fix design.
You can’t outwork a bad system.

Start simple.
Map your motion.

1. List every touchpoint, every handoff, every step that moves a deal forward.
2. Then ask yourself what repeats, what breaks, and what still lives in someone’s head.

That’s where process begins.
• Not in a tool.
• Not in a deck.
• In visibility.

AI can’t fix what you can’t define.
It won’t replace your process.
It will amplify it.

Growth doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing the right things the same way, every time.

System. 
↳ Process. 
↳ Plays. 
↳ People.
In that order.

I’ve spent the week unpacking these three motions.

Not a lot of anecdotes to analyse.
Not a lot of data to crunch.
Not a lot of stories to tell.

If you have data. Perfect.

Still go medium.

1. TAM gives you the outer map.
2. The niche shows where you can actually win.
3. The ideal customer is the buyer who feels the problem hardest.
4. Positioning explains why you are the best answer for them.
5. Messaging turns that into language they react to.
6. Plans and plays turn that language into repeatable actions.
7. Alignment makes every team row in the same direction.

Strategy is how you make these pieces work as one system.

Less guessing. More gravity.
Launch. Measure. Iterate.

It is the only way to find what wins at scale.

If you cut that process short…
If you expect final results from the first wave of experiments…
You are not giving your team the space to do the job you hired them to do.

Trust the process.
Trust the team.

Every December I look back at what worked, 
what didn’t, and what I want to double down on.
This year was different.

Back in January I challenged myself to post five times a week for a full year.
No big plan. Just curiosity about what would happen.

It gave me a niche, clients, collaborators, and maybe a tiny bit of vanity.
Halfway through, I was having so much fun I decided to post seven times a week.

So... Thursday I sat myself down and analyzed every post I wrote and every inbound message I got.

Turns out, the data tells a story.

My visuals carried me.
Consistent posting, 
Daily infographics, 
...and just showing up got me here.

Around 8K followers.
Roughly 35K impressions a week. (lately)

It gave me reach.
It gave me momentum.
But it also taught me something important.

Reach doesn’t automatically build connection.
Structure got me here.
Openness will take me further.

So yes, I’ll keep the visuals. They’re my foundation.
But next year, I’m going to layer more of me on top.

More personal stories.
More client wins, lessons, and mistakes.
More of my face and process.
Building in the open, not just around it.

Doing my own marketing this year was one of the most fulfilling things I’ve done.
I’ve done it for dozens of companies, but doing it for myself helped me shape my own story.

It gave me instant feedback.
And it reminded me why I love the creative part of this work.

It even made me pay it forward more.
I redesigned around 18 LinkedIn profiles this year just because I could.
No ask. No transaction. Just craft.

But the real win wasn’t the profiles.
It was the conversations that came from them.

Helping peers and founders sharpen their story reminded me how generous this platform can be.
Every message, every thank you, every follow up chat built real connections.

That’s the part I want to keep building next year.

Looking ahead, my 2026 playbook is simple.
1. Double down on visual clarity: pillar posts and infographics stay the backbone.
2. Build owned media depth: newsletter, free email courses, long-form how-tos.
3. Show the human side: stories, process, video, and creative experiments.
4. Engage strategically: comment with intent on peers and ICPs, amplify others, join the right conversations.

Everything connects.
1. My and my clients needs will be come pillars.
2. The Sunday pillar will becomes a newsletter.
3. The newsletter becomes a how-to article.
4. The how-to becomes part of the product.

That’s the system I’m building in 2026.

Still visual.
Still structured.
But with a dash more human.

Now I turn one idea into five strategic posts.

Here’s how the MY Pillar Post Strategy works:

1️⃣ The Pillar Concept (Day 1)
Every week starts with this sentence:
“This week I’ll unpack [big concept] so that [specific audience] can [specific outcome].”

That’s the filter.
If a post doesn’t serve that sentence, it doesn’t get published.

On Day 1, I drop the full concept:
What is it,
Why it matters,
Where it breaks,
What changes when it works?

This is not a teaser.
It’s the whole map.

2️⃣ First Principles (Day 2)
On Day 2, I strip the idea to its core.
No hacks. No tools. Just cause and effect.

This is where people go from “I like this” to “I get this.”

If your first principles are weak, your deep dives collapse.

3️⃣ The Deep Dives (Days 3–5)
Each day zooms in on how to do the thing.

No theory. No vibes.
Just the real work.

Each deep dive falls into one of three tracks:

• Design it — how to architect for your stage
• Execute it — how it runs day-to-day
• Optimize it — how to improve without rebuilding

Same structure. Different application.
It works for GTM, onboarding, hiring, content, sales, and anything serious.

4️⃣ The Format System
Same layout every week.

• Day 1: One wide visual. Full concept.
• Day 2: Clean visual. First principles.
• Days 3–5: One how-to per day.

You’re not creating five posts.
You’re unfolding one idea from five angles.

5️⃣ The Weekly Flow
To avoid burnout, I batch everything.

Preparation:

Here’s how to turn your demo into a decision

1. Set an agenda at the top of the call
→ Confirm their priorities
→ Define what a successful outcome looks like
→ Clarify what happens if it makes sense to move forward

2. Use this structure for your deck
→ Slide 1: Recap what they told you
→ Slide 2: Problem framing
→ Slide 3–5: Product moments that solve those problems
→ Slide 6: Proof from relevant customers
→ Slide 7: Mutual action plan or next steps

3. Follow this conversation flow
→ Start with their Situation and Pain
→ Show only the features that solve it
→ Link those features to measurable Impact
→ Reinforce urgency using their Critical Event
→ Confirm Decision process and stakeholders

4. Ask for feedback live
Not “What do you think?”
Instead:
→ “Does this solve the pain you described?”
→ “Would this change anything for your team right now?”

The goal of a great dem is to help the buyer:
→ See how your product fits their world
→ Feel confident about moving forward
→ Trust that this decision creates impact

Help yourself:
→ Confirm fit
→ Qualify urgency
→ Align the deal

And most importantly:
→ Earn the right to prescribe, not just present

Don’t build content for today. Build it for Thursday.

Design is hard, and becomes even harder when you have to do it on the pot.
If you know, you know.

I used to design each post from scratch.
New visuals, new layouts, new ideas.
It looked creative, but it killed my rhythm.

Now, I design my Monday post once, and it gives me four more for the week.
That is what design should do.
It should save time, not create more work.

Here is how I design my Pillar Post so it gives me everything I need for the week.

➥ STEP 1: Start with a system

Your Monday post should always be a full concept.
Think of it like a map.

Examples:
• A 3-part model
• A process from input to output
• A product flow that explains how value happens

If your audience can understand the whole idea from one image, it is ready.
That is your billboard.

➥ STEP 2: Slice the system into three parts

Once the full map is done, break it down.

Each section becomes:
• A standalone visual
• A standalone post
• A focused deep dive

Now you have four visuals from one design.
One for Monday, three for the rest of the week.
No redesigning. No guessing.

➥ STEP 3: Keep the layout consistent

Use the same structure across all four posts.
It builds familiarity.

Your audience learns faster.
Your workflow gets easier.

Repetition builds rhythm, and rhythm builds trust.

➥ STEP 4: Build once, teach all week

Your goal is not to impress with visuals.
It is to communicate an idea so clearly that it can be reused.

One design should feed four pieces of content.
That is when design becomes leverage.

Content strategy doesn’t start with ideas.
It starts with deals.

Most teams build content calendars in isolation.
Topic brainstorms.
Random ideas from sales.
A few “SEO” pieces.

The result?
Lots of content.
No compound effect.

The fix is hiding in plain sight.
Treat your ICP like your editor-in-chief.
And diagnose them with the same rigor you’d use in a discovery call.

I use SPICED:
[S] ituation | the facts and context of your buyer’s world
[P] ain | the challenges that keep them from hitting goals
[I] mpact | what happens if they solve it (or don’t)
[C] ritical [E] vent | the timing pressure that makes it urgent
[D] ecision | the process and people involved in choosing a solution

Every deal you win or lose leaves clues in the SPICED shape.
• Which pains do buyers most often talk about?
• How do they describe those pains?
• Which impacts make them act?
• What proof do they trust?
• Which offers do they ignore?

When you loop those signals back into your content plan…
Your posts, videos, and assets align with how buyers actually buy.

This chart shows it.
Each stage of the funnel:
• awareness, 
• education, 
• selection, 
• commitment.

Gets fuel from your ICP + SPICED (Winning by Design) feedback loop.

Now your content isn’t “marketing activity.”
It’s the same conversation your buyers are already having.

If your content isn’t moving deals forward…
Check your ICP loop and your notes before you chase the next content idea.

Your homepage isn’t converting because your headline doesn’t say what you do.
Not really. Not clearly.

If you're a founder and your hero section still reads like:
“Smarter collaboration for modern teams”

You're not helping your buyer.
You’re confusing them.

We see this all the time.

Founders want to sound clever, 
so they write around the point.

But clarity always beats creativity. 
Especially when someone has 3 seconds to decide if they care.

If you don’t say:
• Who it’s for
• What it replaces
• What it unlocks
…they bounce.

The fix?
Write from your customer’s point of view.

Just capture this:

• Their situation
• Their problem
• Their pain
• Their desired outcome
• The critical moment that makes them want to fix it

Low touch does not mean hands off. “Low touch” isn't an excuse for not having to talk to customers. 

If your inbound funnel breaks the moment volume spikes, something in your motion is wrong. Unless you are running a fully self-serve PLG engine at scale, it should not fall apart under growth.

I’ve worked with GTM teams across different stages of growth — from early-stage startups to established SaaS orgs. Here are the four systems that make low touch actually scale, and the seven mistakes that break it.

1. Clean inbound
Every buyer journey starts before your SDR ever sees it.
• Use Clearbit or Dealfront to identify who is hitting your site.
• Feed those signals into HubSpot or Attio.
• Personalize landing pages automatically with Mutiny.
• Connect all the dots with n8n and/or Clay.

Qualify before they click “Book demo.”

2. Smart follow-up
Do not chase everyone. Automate the warm ones.
• Chat with Intercom Fin or Drift AI to pre-qualify.
• Let HubSpot Workflows handle pre-demo sequences.
• Nurture the “not-yet” buyers in Customer.io.

Buyers should move themselves forward.

3. Guided selection
Keep discovery short and demos tighter.
• Send async demos with Navattic or Tella .
• SPICED call summaries with Fathom.ai.
• Auto-generate proposals with Qwilr.

Reps only run high-value conversations.

4. Frictionless onboarding
Do not hand chaos to CS.

Faster activation equals faster CAC payback.

The seven mistakes that break low touch:
1. Chasing traffic instead of system design.
2. Thinking automation means removal of people.

6. Letting AI create more chaos instead of less.
7. Building tools before building process.

AI is not replacing low touch.

Put the big picture first. That’s your Monday visual.
The others are for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

You’ve now created four posts from one idea.
And four visuals you can re-use.

➥ STEP 3: Write the Monday post as a billboard

This is the post you're writing right now.

It should include:
1. What this system or concept is
2. Why it matters
3. What breaks when it’s missing
4. What changes when it’s working
5. What you’ll break down the rest of the week

Keep it clear and practical.
You’re not teasing the idea. 
You’re mapping it.

➥ STEP 4: Turn the zoom-ins into deep dives

Each visual from Step 2 becomes a standalone post.

You can slice it in different ways:
• Design, Build, Optimize
• Problem, Cause, Solution
• Feature 1, Feature 2, Feature 3

Each one should be actionable.
Each one should be written as it could stand alone.

This is how one idea becomes five pieces of content,
each reinforcing the one before.

What this unlocks

When you post like this, you stop starting from scratch.
You remove daily indecision.
You teach with structure.

...and you compound belief across the week.

This is how content stops feeling random
and starts creating leverage.

Your inbound is humming.

Founders have blind spot, just like me.

Everyone starts out high touch.
• We need to learn.
• We need to talk to customers.
• We need to figure out who you serve and what actually matters.

But once you’ve found your ICP, it’s time to design.
1. Your motion.
2. Your system.
3. Your path to scale.

It’s not that demand isn’t working.
It’s that the way you’re selling can’t keep up.

You built your process for survival, not scale.
Now every demo, every email, every follow-up feels heavier than it should.

You keep trying to fix it with volume.
• More ads. 
• More automation. 
• More demos.

But CAC keeps climbing and conversions keep falling.
Your team’s drowning in inbound and nobody’s sure what’s working anymore.

Your GTM motion determines how fast, 
how efficiently, and how profitably you grow.

Choose the wrong one, 
and you burn time, money, and trust.
Choose the right one, 
and growth compounds with less effort.

→ Low touch gives you efficiency.
Perfect when volume is high and ACV is low.

→ Medium touch gives you balance.
Automation plus human context.

Your team focuses.
Your pipeline flows.
Your CAC stops creeping.

And your scale starts to feel predictable.

What’s been the hardest part of making low touch actually work, automation, conversion, or consistency?

At 1–2M ARR, your motion isn’t scalable yet.
And that’s fine. It’s supposed to be messy.

In the last three months, I’ve talked to at least ten founders running a high-touch motion.

Every single one of them was duct-taping it together.

Not because they didn’t know what they were doing,
but because they never had the time to design it.

Up to this point, it’s experience.

It’s art. It’s instinct and concept selling.

You’re still figuring out what buyers actually care about.
You’re still learning how decisions really get made.

...and most of that learning can’t be automated yet.

The danger isn’t having a duct-taped motion.
The danger is thinking it’s permanent.

I’ve seen it too often.
1. The playbooks live in heads.
2. The process lives in Slack threads.
3. The context gets lost between founders, AEs, and success teams.

That’s the real risk of high touch.
Not that it’s slow.
But that it’s undefined.

High touch is where every SaaS company should start.
If you plan to scale to low touch later,
you need to learn your customers at full resolution first.

That means over-communicate.
Join every call.
Track every handoff.
Map every decision-maker.
Document what actually moves deals forward.

If you’re at 60k ACV and 20 customers,
you don’t need automation yet.
You need understanding.

Once you see the patterns, who buys fastest, who gets stuck, where value clicks, you can design your motion on purpose instead of by accident.

High touch isn’t about adding people.
It’s about adding precision. 

Every touchpoint teaches you something. If you skip this part, you’ll spend the next phase trying to automate confusion.

When you do it right:
• Playbooks are written by evidence, not opinions
• AEs sell with context instead of instinct
• Founders stop fixing leaks and start designing flow
• Every new hire inherits clarity, not chaos
• That’s how you scale with intent.

If your high-touch motion feels duct-taped together,
don’t rush to fix it with tools or hires.
• Pause.
• Design.
• Document.

Your future medium-touch system depends on how well you understand your high-touch motion today.
