Working for Croatia's first unicorn company was a dynamic ride.  

Honestly, it felt like a mix of IT and marketing. 

I was: 
- Monitoring email deliverability
- Increasing the number of MQLs 
- Optimizing the overall lead process

Salesiana is an e-commerce brand for which I created a complete email marketing strategy. 

After extensive market research, I went into detail with their 3 different buyer personas and identified all of their pain points and burning desires.

I then automated welcome sequences for all 3 segments accordingly.

I also wrote all of the emails that we were sending when someone:
- bought a product
- was not opening our emails
- left their shopping cart without purchasing the product
- or when we had a new product that had to be announced.

Most importantly, I sold several hundred products for them in various email campaigns and generated over 10k subscribers with lead magnets. 

In addition to email marketing, I also did lots of technical work with their loyalty program.

Lastly, I managed and coordinated a team of 4 students and created their content calendars for SEO and social media purposes.

As a result, we increased the website traffic by 77% in 6 months and the number of Instagram followers by 30% in 7 months.

Reactions depend on whom you're talking to.

That's literally it.

Totally different reactions.

Because $2,000 for someone making $10k/mo is huge.

It's 20% of their revenue.

And $4,000 for someone making $100k/mo is nothing.

Only 4% of their revenue.

As Hormozi said: Sell to the rich. They pay better. It's so true. Soooooo freaking true...

In 2023 I was a solopreneur. In 2024 I had a 3-person team. In 2025 I have a 6-person team. In 2026 I don't want more people. I want to stay at 6!

Why?

Because I'm starting to see why bigger companies are "slow".

It's inevitable.

More people = more processes.

More processes = more decisions.

More decisions = more risks.

More risks = more time to decide.

More time to decide = slower operations.

And I hate that.

Nothing worse than an 8-9 figure brand saying "We need to reorganize ourselves, let's move this for Q4 next year".

I don't wanna become like that.

My goal is a small, lean team with solid 7-figure years and that's it.

Some call it small.

Some call it big.

I call it optimum for us! :)

CEO: "We tried email marketing, it doesn't work for us."

Me: "Okay, what exactly did you try?"

CEO: "We have 3,000 people on our list. We sent 3 emails and got 0 sales. We don't want to spam them."

Me: "How did you get these 3,000 people?"

CEO: "They registered for our webinars."

Me: "When?"

CEO: "6-12 months ago."

Me: "No wonder why you got 0 sales."

CEO: "What do you mean?"

Me: "First of all, sending 3 emails is almost nothing. It doesn't work that way. Email marketing is about building relationships. You can build one with 3 emails."

CEO: "I'm listening."

Me: "Secondly, people opted in for the webinar. They don't wanna receive emails about other stuff. That's not a natural flow of things. And you waited 6-12 months before you emailed them."

CEO: "So?"

Me: "So they got cold in the meantime. They even forgot how they signed up."

CEO: "What should we do then?"

Me: "Get people to download a lead magnet. Like a free course, challenge, quiz or a tool. Then, as soon as they get it, start sending emails regularly, so they don't forget you. Also, 3 emails overall is nothing. Try sending 3 per week. And ask for replies in your emails. Once they reply, you reply back and have a sales conversation with them."

CEO: "Interesting. Don't you think 3 emails per week is a lot? I'd personally unsubscribe from that."

Me: "You would. But most of your readers wouldn't. Especially if the stuff inside is great. We tested it across 70+ clients, those who send the most emails sell the most."

CEO: "Okay, one last thing".

Me: "Yes?"

CEO: "If you write emails for us, how can you make sure you write on our tone of voice?"

Me: "Ahh, the classic one. That's actually one of the things we're best at. We deeply study your previous content and your brand book. Then our copywriter does the charm. That's what they're paid for. Wanna try it?

CEO: "Okay, let's do it".

Me: "Let's do it."

I'm gonna get a lot of hate for saying this. 

But I'm gonna say it anyway. 

You don't get great results for a client because you're great. 

You get them MOSTLY because the client was already doing amazing without you.

You coming in?

Just a great addition to a thing that was already working.

That's it.

And there's nothing wrong with it.

I'm talking from firsthand experience.

There are some clients that I've done everything for and they haven't succeeded.

And then there are some clients that I just added some tweaks for and they crushed it.

So the question for me always was, always is and always will be:

How can I find more amazing clients who just need a little help to unlock huge incremental results.

Then stick with them for as long as possible.

That's the ONLY game I'm playing now.

P.S. Of course, this doesn't mean you can't deliver great results for rookie clients. 

It just means that 90%+ results out there are from clients who were already great before working with an agency.

I'm tired of "value" posts. 

They literally get me 0 leads per month.

Because my ICP doesn't care about that.

They just wanna directly hear from other people that I'm good with what I do and that's it.

So I put 90% of my energy into outreach, referrals and partnerships.

Since I've made the shift, I've got 22 booked calls in 35 days.

Feels like cheating...

P.S. My ICP are people who have large audiences like 100k+ followers or 10k+ email subscribers.

They're literally too busy to get excited about my "value" posts, let alone take action upon them.

I'm saying based on 350+ sales calls I've done...

I analyzed 1,143 welcome emails this year.

The top reason they fail?

They don't ask for a reply.

Sounds weird, but watch how this plays out:

Someone downloads your lead magnet. They open your welcome email. They barely read it. They close their Gmail. They forget about you.

That's a lost opportunity to go deeper.

Here’s what your welcome email CTA should be:

“Hit reply and tell me what your number 1 problem is when it comes to XY? I ask because I don't want to send you irrelevant stuff."

I tested this on dozens of funnels.

Why did it work?

Because when people reply, they feel like they're talking to a human. Not to a soulless company newsletter. They start anticipating your reply. Waiting for your email to hit their inbox.

Your job is to make that experience feel like a regular chat.

So instead of focusing on just delivering your lead magnet, focus on getting replies.

Make it easy for them to show interest in your offer and watch the sales roll in.

No sir!

The last step is when he invests in businesses and makes tens of millions of dollars in equity growing them.

That's why it's so hard to compete with him.

He can spend $200 to make you buy a $20 book because he knows how to make thousands of dollars from you afterwards.

All ranging from $5,000 to $100,000.

Literally.

So the point is the more offers you have and the more high-ticket they go, the more you can spend on ads.

And if you can outspend everyone, you win.

That's how the game is played.

P.S. Ofcourse he's an extreme example. You don't need all of that. You can have 2-3 offers but please don't stop at $100 per customer. You're wasting the entire potential.

If a client joins our call via phone, I politely ask them to reschedule. I don't do sales calls via phone. It's really hard to present the deal. I sound like an average Joe trying to sell you a car. The client sees no value in it. 

So we MUST do it via computer, where I can present everything in peace.

But later on during our collab?

The client can hop on a call from their bed as far as I'm concerned. 

I don't care at all.

They already trust us at that point so there's no formality required.

But here's a time frame for everything...
