BREAKING NEWS: @OpenAI announces ability for developers to build full apps that work inside ChatGPT.

This is super-exciting.  

ChatGPT becomes an operating system for AI apps/agents.

Woo hoo!  OpenAI highlights HubSpot partnership on main stage at #DevDay.

Today was a special day for me.

Was so cool to see Sam from OpenAI feature HubSpot from the main stage at their Dev Day event.

HubSpot and OpenAI are the two most impactful companies in my life. HubSpot, for obvious reasons and OpenAI for less obvious ones.

My relationship with Sam and OpenAI goes back a bit:

1) Got access to the GPT-2 API so had my "moment of magic" well before ChatGPT launched, and millions experienced that same moment.

2) Have been using OpenAI's APIs and platform to build apps and agents for years. They *really* understand developers and have an amazing dev experience.

3) Sold the chat .com domain name to them and as a result was able to become an investor in the company.

4) They're the primary AI platform that HubSpot partners with and builds with -- as highlighted today.

My congrats to the entire OpenAI team for today's event. I know how much work goes into putting together an event like this. And it was clear from the vibes how much you folks *care*.

BREAKING NEWS:  OpenAI launches Atlas, an AI-powered browser.

Knew it was coming for a while, but it's finally here.

OpenAI launches their take on the AI-powered browser (similar, conceptually to Perplexity's Comet).

I personally think that millions of us are going to move to an AI-powered browser, because once you get used to it, it's impossible to go back.  

The ability to have a working "memory" of pages you've visited, so you can ask questions and find things later is a game-changer.

And, of course, because it's powered by ChatGPT, you can chat with whatever page you're on and ask questions or *do* things on the page.

Strategically, this is an important move for OpenAI as they try to own the primary surface area that billions of people use all day, every day. They've done great with ChatGPT itself (now with 800M+ weekly active users), but this could take it to a whole other level. 

And, they don't just get visibility into what people are doing inside ChatGPT, they get visibility into *everything* a user does on the web.

I'm going to be "Live Linking" the @OpenAI Dev Day event starting in about 10 minutes.

Way back in the day (BC -- Before COVID), folks on social media used to do this thing called "live tweeting".  It was basically them writing tweets about an event as it was happening. It wasn't just sharing the announcements/news, but also their quick take on those announcements.

I think there could be something similar on LinkedIn, which I'm calling "Live Linking". 

So, stay tuned in to this channel as I share my thoughts and reactions on the Dev Day event.

And don't worry, it's not going to be a flood of posts. Probably 5-10.  

UPDATE: Based on a tip from a community member, I'm just going to post comments on this post (to keep everything together -- more like a thread).
