I founded Association Analytics to help organizations to use data to make decisions with confidence.  Combining advances in data science, visualization and predictive analytics, the hosted analytics platform we developed collects, cleans, and combines data from multiple sources to create a “single source of truth”.  Interactive dashboards and data visualizations make it easy to understand the story in the data and take action. I transformed our technical services business into a product platform, received multiple offers and had a successful exit in 2018.

My 3 biggest business decisions started with intuition: 

1. Founding my first company. 
The model for my analytics business came to me almost fully formed while in a relaxed state.

2. Productizing our services. 
I knew it would work even though it meant retooling everything we'd done to that point.

3. Exiting at the right time. 
I sensed the market was at a peak and the timing was right. I had 3 offers.

But sometimes I thought I was using intuition when I wasn’t.

Especially when hiring. 

I’d see possibilities, get excited and ignore warning signs. I'd feel and act frantic.

That wasn’t intuition. 
It was gambling.

The difference is how it feels:

• Intuition feels calm and grounded
• Gambling feels urgent & desperate

Intuition is direct knowing. 
It's not a gamble or a guess.

When you're conscious you have more access to it. 

Your field of attention widens. 
You feel timing, tone, and subtext. 

In an AI world, logic is baseline. 
Intuition gives you the advantage.
Consciousness is your path to it.

Last week was my birthday.
The gift I'm most grateful for is love.

Love is a frequency you can feel. You like being around people who generate it.

That's how it is with my husband.

Here's the thing about frequency: you attract what you are, not what you want. Before we even met, I had to learn to love myself.

Of course, I never would’ve said I didn't love myself. 

I just ignored my body, beat myself up over mistakes, felt guilty when I wasn't working, and tied my worth to my business. 

That's not self-love.

Loving yourself also doesn’t mean being selfish or egotistical.

When you love who you are, it means you're comfortable in your own skin. You stop trying to prove your worth.

You stop performing and start connecting. 

You take care of yourself.

It's a generous thing to do because it's contagious. Everyone around you benefits from your energy.

When love is your core frequency, it ripples out from you and shapes what comes back.

In business this means attracting a team that shares your values. Clients who appreciate you. Partners who help you grow.

And in life it means people who see you, celebrate you, and choose you.

Start with these 3 steps:

1. Awareness. 
Become conscious. 
Notice patterns without judgment.

2. Forgiveness. 
Let go of past mistakes. 
Make better choices today.

3. Appreciation. 
Focus on your gains, not the gaps. 
See your progress, not your flaws. 

Choose one step.
Focus on it for a week. 
Notice what opens up. 

Love isn't a concept. It's a practice.

Business isn't making you tired.
Avoiding is what makes you tired. 
It takes energy to resist something.

And the main thing we avoid?
Feelings.

But we don't actually avoid them. 
We just swap one for another.
That's what's draining you.

You don’t want to feel X, so you don’t do Y, and instead you feel Z. 

Here's the pattern in real life:

Don’t want rejection → 
Don’t ask for the contract → 
Anxiety when numbers slip

Don’t want vulnerability → 
Don’t raise your profile → 
Frustration when pipeline dries

Don't want guilt → 
Don't terminate nonperformer  → 
Overwhelm doing it yourself

Once you're conscious of it, you can change it.

Feelings are just vibrations. Allow them to move through you and they’ll fade. 

Suppress them, and they leak into the meeting, the call, the pitch. 

See it on the inside.
Change it on the outside.

The skill you’re overlooking is ancient.

It kept us alive long before our prefrontal cortex learned to analyze and plan.

Intuition is innate.
It’s the original software.
Direct knowing in your body.

School taught you to prioritize logic.
But your intuition didn’t disappear.
It just became quiet.

You have to be present to feel it.
Your body notices, then your mind catches up. 

Now is the time to be bold.
Don’t let uncertainty stop you.
Access all of your consciousness.

Logic matters, it’s just slower.
So use your intuition as well. 
Then you can move fast.

• Hiring: notice the micro-tensions in an interview. If your body tightens, slow down, and probe for specifics.

• Partnering: sense the field in the first meeting. If the energy expands, pilot something small. If it contracts, walk.

• Marketing: feel for resonance before you deploy. When a message lands in you, test it fast with a small, real audience.

Let your body sense and your mind confirm. Then make your move.

The best decisions aren't made.
They're received.

You've been taught that success comes from analysis, strategy, and execution.

But that's only half the equation.

You perceive it when you're coherent.

You're blind to it when you're chaotic.

It’s happened to all of us:

The "wrong" hire feels wrong from day one (but you ignore the signal).

The deal that falls apart has red flags you miss (because your attention is scattered).

Your best ideas come when you aren’t trying (you’re relaxed enough to receive them).

Most founders work in the dark.
Forcing outcomes.
Missing signals.

The solution isn't more effort.
It's more coherence.
It’s consciousness.

Founders have a high tolerance for pain. We block awareness of it by going unconscious.

We like to believe reason runs the show. But in the moment, emotion does.

When we won our first 7-figure project, I was excited but also terrified. Instead of dealing with the feeling, I tried to buy certainty. I hired a $250K project manager from a Fortune 500 company and handed over the project. I told myself they should know what to do, but really I was just abdicating. 

Milestones were missed, and the client became uneasy. They delayed payment and asked me to step in. Now I felt embarrassed as well as afraid. I let the PM go and cleaned it up, but I never forgot the lesson.

Avoiding emotions isn’t safety. It’s sabotage. If I had processed my initial fear, I could have released it, recentered, and made a better hire. 

We’re taught to disconnect from emotions. In reality, they’re data about your state. You don’t need to express them, but if you don’t acknowledge and process them, you’ll regret it later. 

It pays to get conscious of your state before you act.

Here’s a snapshot of a process I use myself. It takes 1-2 minutes:

1. Notice the first spike: tight chest, heat in the face, mind racing. Instead of pushing through, name it: Fear. Doubt. Inadequacy.

2. Locate it in your body: Head. Chest. Gut. Breathe into it with slow deep breaths. This sends a safety signal to your nervous system. The feeling will start to lessen.

3. Now decide how you want to feel. Clear. Confident. Certain. Vividly remember a time when you felt that way to feel it again. 

4. Only then do you ask, "What’s the next required action?" Take that step. Then repeat the steps.

Awareness first. 
Action second. 
Results follow.

“Stuck” is a feeling, not a fact.

What looks like procrastination or self-sabotage is resistance.

We think something's wrong with us or we just need more willpower. 

That’s not what I believe. 
Resistance isn’t a character flaw. 

It’s your subconscious protecting you from pain, risk, or loss. 

See what it’s protecting and you can move forward.

4 reasons resistance surfaces:

1. You don’t actually want it.
It’s a “should” goal.

2. The path looks painful.
Your brain chooses safety.

3. It clashes with your self-concept.
The steps don't feel aligned.

4. Your intuition says wait.
Not now, or not this.

You have to be conscious to spot which one it is.

Awareness is always the first step.
