Xi'an Tree

Presenting the 'Xi'an Tree', a vertical garden centrepiece to Heatherwick’s Xi’an Centre Culture Business District (CCBD) development.

Architects Heatherwick Studio invited Territory Studio at an early stage of the project to bring a digital layer of storytelling to this monumental development. Working across three key areas of delivery, we produced a live projection art show for the official opening of the development, a multi-sensory Mobile App & Mixed Reality experience, and a library of lighting and audio moments that continue to enhance the landmark throughout the year.

Big thanks to our team for an incredible effort to get this project delivered and our amazing collaborators including Heatherwick and many more.

Welcome to the open world of Exoborne. A tactical extraction shooter set in a world torn apart by extreme forces of nature. Here, players can customise powerful exo-rig suits to gain a strategic advantage in ever-changing weather conditions. 

Building into this game world and narrative, we were asked to create the main game logo, graphic mark, and animation rules for it for use integrated into the game, and for real-world use.

Guardians of the Galaxy

Love this clip of Chris Pratt walking around the Milano on the first in the series of Guardians of the Galaxy films. Those on-set graphics we created for the spacecraft were so much fun and we had such an exceptional team working on this.

Alan Payne the AD on the film ,came up with a wonderful lens overlay for the screens so that it distorted the image optically as the camera moved around the film set. Charlie Woods production designer and art dept team created both decks of the Milano so you could walk from the top deck down into the bottom deck. So much fun.

AI identity theft

For Bitdefender  latest US campaign, They Wear Our Faces, we partnerered with 20(SOMETHING)  to reveal the unsettling reality of AI-driven scams — where synthetic voices, deepfakes, and generative likenesses can weaponize trust itself.

Using the very tools that power deception — generative AI, synthetic media, and digital manipulation — we helped turn technology against its darker uses, creating a campaign that blurs the line between the real and the artificial to make a vital issue impossible to ignore. 

The Territory Studio team always using a mixture of traditional craft such as editing and motion design to finely tune the generative footage. More detail on the project specifics soon. 

A powerful reminder that what’s deeply human — our voices, our faces, our emotions — is increasingly vulnerable to replication.

Now live across the US, They Wear Our Faces challenges audiences to question what (and who) they can trust in an age where anyone can be convincingly anyone.

Feelings from the past..

There was a time when car interfaces were wonderfully mechanical.
 The reassuring click of a switch. The slow sweep of an analog needle.
 Interfaces that were felt as much as seen — simple, legible, full of intent.
Now, dashboards are digital ecosystems. Dynamic, adaptive, infinitely configurable.

Personally for me, the best ones still capture something of that analog soul.
What fascinates me is how tactility and technology are starting to merge again — haptic feedback that feels mechanical, lighting that behaves emotionally, motion graphics that echo the car’s physical movement.
Designing these hybrid interfaces is no longer about UI versus industrial design. It’s about choreographing experience in motion.

 – How information breathes with the rhythm of driving.
 – How the glow of a dial can create calm.
 – How transitions can carry narrative as much as function.

The real future of dashboards is likely to be sensorial.
Making the digital feel physical again.

Niche down!

Ballerina. Tattoos and Graphics

We're known for our screen graphics on films and thats pretty niche already so we were particularly pleased to design the tattoo in Lionsgates latest John Wick film, BALLERINA. Featuring on the back of our lead character as well of course as the key screen graphics and graphic moments in the films.

A close collaboration with a talented Art Dept team and then moving onto our friends in VFX. Great to be working with so many great teams.

Future Smart Homes

Great article over at Domus on cinema predicting smart homes...

I find futures in film are rarely what we see happen. Designers and filmmakers often try to imagine technology 10, 50, or 100 years ahead — but predicting the future is tricky.

Many “futuristic” interfaces, cities, or devices end up feeling dated within a few years because the real world doesn’t evolve in a straight line. Trends, culture, and human behavior shift in unexpected ways, which makes accurate predictions almost impossible.

Instead, successful cinematic futures focus on experience over accuracy.
By designing for human experience rather than trying to forecast technology, films create worlds that feel authentic — even decades after release.

Predicting the future isn’t about getting the details right. It’s about imagining how it feels to live there. It also says a lot about how we feel currently about our direction of travel.
