In September of 2020, my life changed.

Up until that point, I was miserable.

I worked multiple jobs doing things I didn't find fulfilling.

• Delivery driver
• Electrician
• Server
• Medic

I felt trapped in the traditional rat race of trading time (and happiness) for money.

As my bank account went up, so did my misery.

But on a random day in September of 2020, I was scrolling the Twitter feed when I came across something...

A course.

The person promoting it promised that it would help me grow my social media and somehow magically make money.

The result?

I HAD SWARMS OF SUPERMODELS IN MY DMs AND I WENT VIRAL OVERNIGHT.

Kidding...

I followed the generic advance in the course and barely grew my social media.

But...

It still changed my life. 

Because it introduced me to the world of online business and a section of Twitter where entrepreneurs were posting content about their lifestyle and business.

I was instantly hooked.

Seeing other young people in their 20s sharing their thoughts showed me that living a life of freedom was possible.

I didn't know how, but I was determined to do the same.

At the time, I was in college and working a minimum wage job at Dominos as a delivery driver. 

But I was so dedicated to living a life of location, time, and work freedom that I dropped out and quit my job to pursue online business full-time.

I became obsessed with learning.

• I paid for courses
• I hired mentors 
• I binged books

All while doing this I was posting content on social media and learning various online marketing skills.

And this led to me starting my first real business:

Social media ghostwriting (pretending to be people online and growing their following with content).

My clients ranged from:

• Best-selling authors
• Well-known influencers
• 7 and 8 figure entrepreneurs

I scaled that business to $30,000-$50,000 a month within my first 9 months.

I did this for 2 years before transitioning to my role as a personal brand consultant for those looking to build and scale their business with social media.

Since then, I've grown my total audience to 550,000+ people and hit $100,000+ months.

Now my mission is to help others live a life of freedom and create an impact with their content and online business.

"I have imposter syndrome."

You don't. I'll prove it in 60 seconds:

But first, we gotta answer 1 question:

"WTF is imposter syndrome?"

Imposter syndrome is when you doubt your accomplishments despite evidence of your competence.

But 99% of you don't have that.

You have comparison dysfunction.

This is when you measure your Chapter 3 against someone else's Chapter 47 and call yourself a failure.

Imposter syndrome = Clinical issue.
Comparison dysfunction = Math problem.

Lemme break it down for ya:

You see someone on LinkedIn hit $40k/month.

Your brain panics.

"I only made $5.37 in 8 months. I'm a failure. My dad who left for milk and never came back was right."

But turns out, they started 6 years ago.

You compared your pregame to their 4th quarter.

You labelled yourself an imposter.

Then probably ate something beige out of the pantry and stared at the wall.
Here's the formula that fixed this for me in 15 minutes:

(Your Current Chapter ÷ Total Chapters)
vs.
(Their Current Chapter ÷ Their Total Chapters)
Then...

1) Write down 3 people you're comparing yourself to.
2) Find out when they started.
3) Run the formula.

You’ll realize the gap between you and them isn't proof you're broken.
It's just proof you started later.

"Give value" is the most common advice in content.

It's also the most misunderstood.

When that advice was written, "value" meant information.

• Tips. 
• How-tos.
• Frameworks. 
• Cringe top 10 hacks lists. 

If you had info your audience didn't, you had leverage.

That game is dead.

Anyone with a $20/month ChatGPT subscription can get any answer to any question in 6.9 seconds.

Your "5 steps to grow on LinkedIn" post?

AI can write that shit (with more personality).

It's simple supply and demand economics:

Information = high supply and low demand. The value of info is at an all-time low.

So how do you build an audience?

Well, the same advice still works. "Give value."

But "value" has changed.

Value is no longer what you know.
It's how you see.

• Your story about how you lost your 1st client.
• Your  take on why [insert common advice] is wrong.
• Your  opinion that makes Karen from HR lose her shit.

People buy into who you are, not just what you say.

The information economy rewarded research.
The attention economy rewards perspective.

So share the 1 thing AI can't compete with you on:

Your lived experience.

The amount of money you make is a direct result of the problems you solve.

Don't sell ghostwriting.
Sell more leads.

Don't sell personal training.
Sell more energy.

Don't sell a dropshipping course.
Sell overnight Lambos, Dubai penthouses, and Rolexes.

That last one was a joke for the autistic people reading.

But as long as you sell services/products, you'll be a commodity.

Start selling transformations. Take them from pain point to desired outcome.

Your service is not valuable. The transformation is.

Your service is just the vehicle for delivering it.

Stop working with broke clients.

My 3 steps for charging more:

Step 1: Find a Growing Market

Who you target will influence how much you can charge:

Students = Harder to charge higher prices.
B2B tech founders = Easier to charge higher prices.

Research potential markets by looking for:

• Big pain point
• Increasing demand
• High willingness to pay for solutions

Focus on markets where you can make the biggest impact and deliver lots of value.

Step 2: Make an Offer

The better your offer = The more you can charge.

When I make an offer, I make sure to have:

• A timeframe.
• A clear benefit.
• A quantifiable outcome.
• A risk reversal (guarantee or lots of social proof).

This will make your offer a no-brainer for your target market.

Step 3: Gradually Increase Your Price

Now that you have a strong offer in a growing market, it’s time to raise your prices.

I recommend upping your price by 15% with each new client.

Do this until:

• It’s much harder to close clients.
• It’s much harder to retain clients.

You’ll eventually find your sweet spot.

Repeat these steps and you’ll steadily increase your income while maintaining a steady flow of clients.

Compete on value, price.

I've been agnostic most my life, but I started going to church last year.

And as a writer, I couldn't help but notice the #1 difference between the boring and engaging pastors.

The boring pastors told lessons.
The engaging pastors told stories.

Last Sunday, the pastor talked about when he started hitting the gym. He went often and felt good about it.

But one day, an instructor told him all his workouts were useless if he wasn't getting enough protein in.

The pastor connected that story to church.

You can show up to the "workouts" at church every Sunday. But if you're not applying the lessons? 

Nothing changes.

Now, the pastor could've just given the lesson, "Showing up isn't enough."

It'd be easy for him to say, but easier for us to forget.

Because lessons tell you the what.
But stories make you understand the why.

When you scan LinkedIn, what do you see?

• "5 tips for productivity."
• "7 ways to grow your brand."
• "1 framework I used to 10x my revenue."

Tips. Lists. Lessons.

But in the world of AI, info is a commodity.

If you want to stand out, stop just giving tips and hacks.

Share a story and relate it to the lesson.
