Love this place.  We provide the application skills for students to learn why their school subjects are important.   This is done by providing workplace training in customer service, cafe management and retail sales.  I love the opportunity to create ways for interconnecting adults and youth.  Helping youth apply their education in community settings is a passion.

Worked with 10 Skagit/Island county school districts to develop a continuum of education from local high schools with technical fields at local community colleges.  Students earn college credit while enrolled in community college articulated courses at their high school.

PrepWork Consortium Director

Oak Harbor Public Schools

Worked with all the Career Technical teachers and their CTE courses for increased student attendance, improved integration with academic courses, and meeting state educational standards.  All CTE courses had an articulation with local community colleges for smooth student-career transition.

Partnerships in Public Education, Inc

The Greater Seattle Chamber of Commerce hired me as their founding director for Private Initiatives in Public Education.   With Seattle Public Schools staff, we created school-business partnerships for 100 schools in the Seattle public school district.  The 10 high schools had one major corporation and one major hospital that developed curriculum enhancement projects, tutors, mentors, internship sponsors, and Principal Leadership Mentors.  I wrote and published the book, Doable Dozen that offered every Business School Partnership a roadmap to involvement together.

I am passionate about living a full, healthy life and am on a mission to help others thrive too – regardless of their age.

When I retired, I felt old. I lacked energy, stamina, joy, and vigor. But I decided, “I’m not going to retire; I’m going to rewire!” I set out to reclaim my health and rediscover my purpose.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I was born in Montana, lived in Walla Walla, WA and attended the University of Montana, earning a bachelor’s degree in Health & Nutrition, Secondary Education, and Teaching. Later, I earned a Master’s degree in Adult and Continuing Education from University of Colorado.  As the founder of Private Initiatives in Public Education, I coordinated partnerships between businesses and schools for four large school districts, investing in learning experiences that inspire students. After a 40-year career, I am now retired and focusing on my true passion: helping others feel their best and live a vibrant, thriving life.

I live on beautiful Whidbey Island with my husband, John and enjoy visiting our three beautiful grandchildren who live in Alaska.  I enjoy our beaches, forest walks, yoga classes, meeting friends, traveling, and exploring new and exciting places.
