Founded and led the Business Operations & Strategy team, which played a key role in driving the company's 10x growth to unicorn status and beyond. Promoted from the company's sole Chief of Staff, built the team from scratch, and developed the company's operating rhythm for strategic alignment, while also driving delivery of special projects.

Significant milestones and achievements:
• Raised over $150 million in Series E & F funding rounds led by Sequoia and TDM Growth Partners
• Acquired Zugata, a Gartner Cool Vendor that had previously raised over $10 million, and fully integrated it into Culture Amp to become its second product
• Designed the company's strategic planning cadence, including the facilitation of exec offsites, to drive execution of strategic priorities and pursuit of our North Star metric
• Initiated financial planning and analysis (FP&A), by designing a responsive budgeting framework suited for hypergrowth

Built a web3 trading product for day traders, achieving $100k monthly revenue profitably in 100 days (by creating over $1 million in gross gains for our users) with no outside capital. Subsequently raised from Treble, Blackbird, Archangel, and a handful of highly trusted angels.

Originally built a healthtech tracking app for chronic illnesses to solve the lack of research data. Shipped an MVP and attained 2x the DAU/MAU of the industry standard (includes Headspace, Calm, Daylio). Accidentally pivoted from healthtech to simplifying NFT trading after executing on successful arbitrage opportunities on weekends and identifying a dearth in infrastructure for trading NFTs.

Conducted training for new consultants to the ANZ offices on how to build models and write great presentations. Fast-tracked from Business Analyst (to Senior Business Analyst, then) to Associate.

Led the $50+ million private label portfolio, including consumer electronics, hardware, and toys during the early days of Australian e-commerce.

Codified the art of product ideation, sourcing, and pricing into a playbook that let us experiment faster and smarter with new product categories. Expanded our product range from 100 to 1,000 SKUs and doubled volumes and profits. Established our Shenzhen office and first China-based team.

Kogan.com became listed on the ASX in 2016.

I was a startup builder and advisor who has launched ventures in web3, healthtech and edtech. As the founder and Director of Culture Amp's Business Operations & Strategy team, I helped the company achieve 10x growth to unicorn status and beyond. In my own startups, I achieved 0 to $100k monthly revenue in 100 days (without outside capital and profitably), secured VC funding, and garnered national press coverage.

I started my career in strategy consulting and have an MBA from MIT Sloan. 

I range from nerding out on min-max problems to passionately growing people and teams to enduring greatness -- ever since my first job as a tutor. And now I get to teach again.

I recently came across this passage, which is exactly how I feel about teaching:

“I know I will write until I’m old, so I’m not in a rush for any achievements. I think when we know we’re not passionate about something we have to be more in a rush because we need to get some payoff because we know we’ll eventually quit” — Paul Millerd 

So winning a teaching award is a much appreciated acknowledgement, but it has little to do with why I do it.

That said, I'm grateful to the University of Melbourne for the acknowledgment, and I'm always honoured to be able to leave an impact on the students I get to teach.
