Building Ydun - strength is everything.

With Ydun I'm building the only place I should need to consistently frequent to remain in peak shape forever.

The science of the past decade is pretty unanimous: we need to do do more heavy resistance training, to prevent sarcopenia and osteoporosis. Strength is the best predictor we have for quality of life. With strength comes higher energy, metabolism, better mood, positivity, confidence, productivity, the list goes on and on!

For me, it's quite simple: I love doing sports and being active outdoors. I wanna be able to go snowboarding, wakeboarding, play tennis etc. with my kids when they're grown up, and their kids after that! It all starts with strong, positive habits and strength is best built in a gym. But I never really liked the gym. So I'm building the gym I wish I had: data driven, efficient, few people, top trainers and vibes.

Lot's of people are moving to Milan for the favourable tax incentives, but it's really a lifestyle choice.

People love to hate on the city for it's greyness, lack of green areas, terrible air quality, traffic, etc. (all of which I can agree with), but the location of Milan is second to none in Europe.

Yesterday morning I threw my cross-country skis in my car, drove 1h 15m north to Piani di Bobbio, did an hour and a half of cross country skiing , and was back in Milan before noon!

Muscular strength is one of the best predictors we have for health span; the quality of life as we get older.

🛑 Yet most people are doing the same mistake i was doing for years; going to various classes (yoga, body pump, pilates, barry's, etc.), or lifting too light weights, thinking they're training strength when in reality they're just training endurance.  

This training without a structure doesn't allows strength to actually accumulate over time.

If you're not training strength or doing it wrong, the consequences are predictable:
📉  loss of muscle mass and neural efficiency
📉 declining resilience under stress
📉 reduced independence with age
