There are no lazy people.

There are only people stuck in cycles of dysregulation, survival, and overwhelm.

What we label as ‘laziness’ is often the nervous system overloaded:

Shutting down. Conserving. Freezing.

Procrastination and avoidance are often responses to a threat- 

Even if the threat isn’t conscious.

I’m talking fear of failure, lack of purpose or direction, trauma, or even just plain old exhaustion.

The label of ‘lazy’ is often an oversimplified, shaming way of ignoring the WHY behind the behavior.

A lot of the founders in our community ask themselves: “why am I not trying harder?”

And we respond: “what support do you need to feel safe enough to try?”

Compassion isn’t coddling- it’s a bridge back to aliveness. 💜

I used to be able to eat anything I wanted, without thinking about it.

Then one day, I woke up about 20 lbs heavier and realized I didn't actually have a system for taking care of my health.

I tried "eating clean", juice cleanses, doing cardio all the time, and restriction, kicking off years of disordered eating patterns.

None of it worked.

When I started working with my first certified nutrition coach several years ago, I realized that a lot of what I thought I knew was wrong.

Like many women, I was eating far too little protein every day - so I dramatically increased my protein intake.

I focused on strength training over cardio.

I stopped caring about fad diets.

Long story short:  i t  w o r k e d.

Most of all?

My relationship with food drastically improved, I'm stronger in the gym than ever, and I'm happy and comfortable in photos at parties or on vacation.

I spend no time thinking about what some fitness influencer says about how carbs or fat are the new public enemy.

I knew I had to pass on this knowledge to as many other women as I could.

So in 2022, I co-founded Lifestyle With The Linges with my sister Lana (a nutrition coach like me) to:

→ Teach women what really matters about their health and nutrition - and what doesn't - freeing up their headspace
→ Introduce the Flexible Dieting method (which is not a diet, it's a method!) to as many people as possible
→ Simplify the confusing, frustrating, and anxiety-inducing world of how women are taught to think about their bodies

Here's what our students have accomplished by working with us:

CASE STUDY #1:
Sarah WAS going to do a crash diet before her wedding; instead, after working with us, she increased her food intake significantly, started strength training, and did a full body “re-comp”. AKA, she lost fat and gained muscle.

By the time she walked down the aisle, she was more confident than she had ever been in her life. With zero dieting - her calorie intake went up, not down!

CASE STUDY #2:
Maddy wanted to lose 10 pounds to feel amazing during presentations. But she didn't want to diet herself into an anxious state before public speaking. After our training, she realized she could accomplish this while also consuming foods she enjoyed throughout.

She used macro tracking to tweak the type of foods she was putting into her system, lost the weight, and felt supremely confident when she stepped on stage.

I am NOT a nice woman 

In fact, the word ‘nice’ low key gives me the ick 🤮

Think about every time you’ve asked a friend about a first date: if she says the person was ‘nice’ you know you’re never hearing about them again lol

A lot of folks conflate being NICE with being KIND, but they’re totally different.

Being nice is:
→ a desire to avoid friction 
→ being polite and agreeable 
→ maintaining harmony at the expense of true feelings

It’s giving Good Girl Programming. Ew.

Good Girl Programming is all about people pleasing, avoiding conflict, and conforming. This is a path that leads to depression and anxiety meds, eating disorders, and autoimmune issues. 

Powerful women are KIND, but they are not nice 👑

Being kind is:
⚡rooted in empathy and authenticity 
⚡speaking your truth with compassion
⚡being able to have difficult conversations

Being kind means your center of gravity is so strong and rooted that you can stand tall in the storm without collapsing into someone else’s opinions or losing yourself.

It’s giving confidence and emotional regulation. YUM.

This is what’s required in order to build a business that stands on its own two feet.

I recently started reading the Bible for the first time in my adult life

Growing up in a religion that did not serve me, I could never have imagined finding myself back to these teachings as an adult

But questioning my own assumptions— putting thoughts, ideas, and ways of being onto my personal altar over and over again to question whether they are True– is a core part of my practice 

Having been on a journey of spiritual exploration for years now, I’ve sat at the feet of many great teachers to learn 

And after witnessing several people in my inner circle’s lives be transformed by the teachings of Jesus, I became aware of how I was closed off due to a story I carried from the past

So I’ve been on an exploration to sit at the feet of this great teacher and learn directly from His words

Already I can feel myself being transformed by the depth of love and grace being transmitted through the teachings

Why do I share this?

As someone who had the religious “ick” for years, it’s most certainly not to alienate anyone 

I also don’t share this because I’m religious (I’m not)

Nor will I be pushing this in any of the work I do in the world

I share this because I’m noticing that being able to open my heart to things that I was previously completely closed off to shows me that I am becoming more and more free internally

It’s not about doctrine for me, it’s about liberation

This is the gift of a spiritual path– it’s less about what I believe, and more about who I become when I allow myself to soften, listen, and be return to something I once ran from and meet it with curiosity instead of fear

I remember the first time I made President’s Club at 24. Our CSO raised a toast and asked me- the only woman on the team- how many new designer bags I would be buying. 

Everyone laughed, and I laughed along with them.

But the real answer was zero. 

I was paying to put myself through college on the side and sending money home to my family, as we had lost both our family home and business in the 2008 crash.

I remember I closed a 7 figure deal- the largest services deal our division had ever seen.

When it was announced, a male team member asked who I had slept with to get the PO.

I just shook my head and brushed it off. 

The truth? I had spent years building relationships at that company. I had a badge. I was invited to their kid’s birthday parties.

------------------

I could share countless stories like these.

Because in my 10+ year sales career, I was consistently a top performer…

And I spent just as much time trying to find safety inside my own organization as I did serving customers.

To be clear, I hold no bitterness or resentment.

These experiences shaped me into who I am today. 

They taught me resilience, for sure– but also the cost of spending time in environments that don’t feel safe or supportive. 

And this is where Becoming the Bridge comes in.

Because founders and early leaders set the emotional architecture of a company long before the org chart exists.

Your people will model what you model.

And the culture you build– intentionally or not– will either unlock their brilliance or slowly drain it.

Founders: you have the rare chance to build something different.

Something human.

Something that makes people brighter, not smaller.

The kind of company where no one has to armor up just to belong.

Better workplaces start with better leaders.

And that starts with you 💜

My husband and I have deployed investment capital to multiple founders we met on LinkedIn, but you won’t catch us investing in the hottest new AI company and we rarely touch an angel investment opp.

Instead, we regularly invest in businesses that are already profitable with founders we like, in industries we know well.

We index on creating cash flow now, with the opportunity for upside later. 

This is a part of the path we followed to financial independence in our early 30s.

There are 1,000 ways to be an investor. 

The important thing is to have a thesis guiding your decision making that aligns with your goals, skillsets, and values. That thesis should tie together holistically (1) your portfolio, and (2) the rest of your career.

But even some of the most successful entrepreneurs I’ve ever met are still taking their first steps in becoming investors. (That’s ok: making investing mistakes teaches you valuable lessons about what kind of investor you want to be.)

Some of the best ROI you can ever find is learning from the mistakes (and successes) of others, to avoid having to make ALL of them yourself.

That’s why our community encourages each other to post deals they’re thinking of doing, to get feedback + fresh perspective on both risk and opportunity. We’ve had a few good ones this week!

Sometimes you just have to act as if THIS business/opportunity you’re growing, is the only one.

What a blessing it can be, to have your back against the wall:

To know that there is NO alternative if you don’t make whatever you’re working on, work.

I wonder some days whether I would do things differently if I was just starting out in my career, instead of building from a place of relative financial comfort.

How can I take the best parts from when I really WAS cornered and had no way to go but out and up… without the worst parts?

To both feel the urgency of growing the mission. But not also act from desperation, like many of us do (and I used to do) when there was truly no alternative but to make whatever was in front of me, work.

Many of you are later-career: you’ve accomplished a lot already. You’re not just figuring things out for the first time.

But maybe you’ve gone on your own and started a business or changed careers, and now things are new and different.

Or you’re taking clients on the side because your primary job takes 20h/wk, and you have a burning desire to create a company that allows you to quit your job.

My answer:

👉  You have to change fuel.

Feeding on unholy desperation is the entrepreneurial equivalent of drinking unicorn blood: it’ll keep you going, but at great cost.

If you started your career drinking quad shot espressos and unicorn blood, and now you’re more comfortable: you can’t go back to the way you started.

You’ll need to find a real PURPOSE that sustains you.

And, “I want to make money” doesn’t count.

Everyone’s purpose is unique. But it almost always comes down to Some Way You Want To See The World Be Different From How It Is.

Find that, focus on that, and come back to it when you get lost (emotionally, financially, mentally…).

Because you WILL get lost.

I get lost, too. We all do.

But I always find my way back through my purpose:

To help leaders who are doing the inner work to maximize their mission. To bring world-changing people together to heal and grow in community.

To convince you all that self-love comes first, and hustle second.

And to lead by example. 💜

10 things I DON’T do as a 35 year old former coach + athlete that may surprise you



1. I don’t train every day. 3-4x a week is my sweet spot

2. I don’t do the hot yoga class with the 5 lb weights and the star jumps. I am only ever training one thing at a time– to get stronger, faster, more mobile, etc. Trying to do everything in a session is a great way to get better at nothing

3. I don’t track my food, my sleep, my steps (although I have in the past). I don’t need outside data to be honest with myself about whether I’m taking great care. IMO mastery is found in self trust 

4. I don’t restrict food at all. Instead, I focus on eating the highest quality food possible for 90%+ of meals and let the chips fall where they may for the rest

5. On that note, I don’t ever have anything to “make up for.” Seeing all the “just do extra cardio and have a tiny breakfast on Thanksgiving morning” content makes me deeply cringe

6. I don’t spend almost any time examining my body in the mirror. My relationship with my body is guided by how she is feeling, not looking. Similarly, I don’t ever ever ever disparage my body. Seriously. I treat her with kindness and respect and view even uncomfy things such as bloating, injuries, etc, to be messages from her on what she needs

7. I don’t do 5 AM workouts. Or 6 AM workouts. Or 7 AM workouts. I like to sleep :)

8. I am not always trying to get better. I go through long seasons of maintaining and doing the absolute minimum effective dose

9. I don’t do a single damn thing because I’m “supposed” to do it. I do what comes joyfully to me and when the energy isn’t flowing towards something, I set it down for a bit

10. I am not obsessed with longevity, biohacking, anything. I am fully focused on living fully now while doing all that I can to feel amazing and don’t think trying to live to 147 is a great use of my time and energy. It’s giving “fear of death” but in supplement form lol

One year ago today, I took a leap of faith that changed my life forever

Dec 1, 2024 was the day Becoming the Bridge was born

But I think of it more as “JackJack Day” 💜

Building a vision that aligns with my heart is crazy cool

But getting to do it with Jack?

You’ve seen him show up on this platform as the most loving, encouraging human

That’s not just his internet face– he truly is a walking ray of sunshine

The man brings opportunity and optimism to every room he is in

He uses every challenge he faces as a chance to open his heart and love more

We have accomplished more together in our first year than I could’ve imagined, and the best part is that we’re just getting started!

Someday I will tell the story of how we ended up partnering and the crazy series of synchronicities that led to that, but today I am in prep mode for our retreat kicking off this Friday!!

My idea of what happiness is continues to evolve as I get older 

I am still in inquiry. 

I don’t think you ever “arrive,” but here’s where I’m at now:

→ My younger self thought it was something like euphoria or excitement
⚡ My current self believes it is closer to contentment and gratitude 

→ My younger self thought that being happy was the standard for a life well lived
⚡My current self believes that it is more about learning to ride the waves of life with grace and levity, letting every emotion belong

→ My younger self thought of happiness in broad strokes: good days, bad days, etc
⚡My current self knows to look for micro moments of beauty even in the most challenging of times

→ My younger self thought that happiness was something that could be achieved
⚡My current self knows that happiness is an active choice and a daily practice 

→ My younger self thought happiness required everything going “right”
⚡My current self has learned it can exist even when things are falling apart

I consider myself to be an explorer on the grand adventure of a life well lived.

For me, happiness didn’t become easier.

I just became more available to it.

neat. i started with an audience of < 2000 almost 3 years ago. 720 posts later, kinda a cool lil milestone to hit

i started writing on linkedin because i kept having "soapbox moments" on daily walks with my husband- big ideas and theories on what it meant to grow and evolve as a human, all inspired by the coaching work i was doing

he was like, "you should write these down and share them" (thanks Alex Boyd!)

if you've been around for a bit, you might've seen me:
- go through my health + fitness obsession.... er, phase
- spend a season sharing my journey to financial independence
- publicly shut down a business with zero plan
- go through a whole spiritual revolution of reconnecting with my feminine  
- meet my biz partner Jack Rosenkrantz (here on the internets!) and launch Becoming the Bridge

i just keep evolving and keep writing about it :)

learning to use my voice (which i feel i'm barely scratching the surface of) has changed my life

thanks to each and every one of you who has followed along, taken the time out of your day to read something i wrote, or shared a kind word of support

My first online launch in 2022, 2 people signed up. One of those people was my mom 😂

(Love you mom since I know you’re reading this!)

I ran the program anyway and knocked the one real client’s socks off.

That same client went on to join 2 more offerings and is looking to join a 4th next year.

Fast forward to now, where I’m heading into hosting a retreat next week– an offering that sold out months in advance. 

The amount of less than glamorous moments it’s taken to get here:
- launches like the one I named above
- pivoting appx 1,317 times
- publicly shutting down a business

Entrepreneurship is a fantastic vehicle for learning to set down your pride.

The path to sold out launches is paved with as many “failed” or highly mid launches as it takes.

The question is: can you stay in the game long enough with enough enthusiasm to get there?

The ones who make it have three things in common:

⚡they remain connected to their vision
⚡they stay curious and use the data as feedback, rather than a judgment of their worth
⚡they surround themselves with people who are dedicated to going the distance 

I didn’t have that third piece when I started and it was tough.

So Jack and I built it.

What people think entrepreneurship is: hotdog legs with a laptop on a beach

What entrepreneurship more often is: resizing images on your laptop at 8 PM because your website is loading glacially slow

This week I met with a longtime client who was at her mother’s death bed

What an absolute honor and privilege 

There were tears

There was laughter

Grief and gratitude dancing together

Heart cracked wide open, yet her spine straight and strong 

She was so damn graceful and courageous that it took my breath away

This is the essence of the work I get to do:

Helping people root deeply into their strength so they can meet life– with whatever it brings– with grace, levity, and integrity

I’m inspired to do more of it and pay it forward

“I joined this community because it felt like I could either go to stuffy entrepreneurship events where everyone is ‘100% professional’, or I could go to therapy. But I realized I didn’t have a place I could bring my whole self as a business owner.”

Paraphrasing, but:

That’s essentially why we created this community.

You can find groups focused on spiritual growth or meditation or inner work, and WAY too many places to learn sales/marketing tactics and all of that.

But there’s something deeply weird and unhelpful about learning strategies for growing your business from people who don’t know who YOU really are underneath.

Most entrepreneurs are missing a place where they can bring BOTH:
1. “Holy sh!t we just closed a $213k contract how are we going to deliver this and where can I get more”
2. “ My income fluctuates wildly and I sometimes can’t handle the stress plz help me self-regulate”

I’ve learned that to lift the ceiling for my company’s growth, I have to grow as a person.

AND… sometimes, growing our business IS what forces us to grow as people.

Closing a big enterprise agreement that forces you to hire and uplevel yourself as a leader. Or saying “I’m going to become a professional speaker”, not having the confidence of having done it yet but nevertheless landing a series of high-profile engagements that cause you to believe you really can do it.

It’s the messy middle that trips us up sometimes.

The thoughts you have after the team meeting, wondering if you can pull this off. Being able to bring those to your community. Having those same people know you well enough to comment on the sales strategy you’re thinking of implementing. Learning how to grow your own business by watching others grow theirs.

Our community is here for all of it - the successes, the setbacks, and everything in between.
