I founded CS Recruiting over 10 years ago with no real intention of starting a business. I had just delivered my third son and was leveraging my recruiting and logistics experience to take on freelance projects to stay in the game. Little did I know at the time that I had stumbled into a much-needed niche service and there was an untapped opportunity to help companies hire the right talent in our industry.
Over the past decade, CS Recruiting has grown and evolved by hiring the right people and setting our team members up for success with an effective training program and the right recruiting tools. We currently have a ~40person team and a reputation for being one of the most respected recruiting firms in the Logistics and Supply Chain industry.

I never remember my work anniversary, so it's a good thing LinkedIn does.

Last week I was reminded by LinkedIn that I hit 16 years at CS Recruiting, and for the first time, I actually paused. Because while it's technically still my anniversary, I'm no longer the owner after selling the business to Hirewell in December.

It's hard to believe that 16 years ago I started the company with no plan, no funding, and pretty much no clue what I was doing.

For years, I was too busy running the business to stop and acknowledge what I'd built. Now that I'm on the other side, I can finally see it clearly.

Over the last 16 years, I'm incredibly proud to say my team has positively impacted a whole lot of lives.

It was hard. And it was worth it.

Thank you to everyone who sent a note this year. It means more than you know.

We took a family trip to Costa Rica. My kids wanted to see wild animals.

Night 1: 8-foot boa constrictor in our house.
Night 4: Monkeys "relieved" themselves from trees above our dinner table.

Be careful what you wish for, kids. 🐍🐒

But honestly? Those are the moments we'll remember forever.

Not the perfect sunsets. Not the Instagram-worthy meals.

The snake story. The monkey story. The chaos we survived together.

If it's a sign for what's ahead in 2026...I'm ready for the unexpected.

The first-ever FreightCaviar print magazine showed up in my mailbox.

And I'd like to say that our team played a little part in their history...

In 2017, we placed Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski in a role that he later told me "completely changed his life." A few years after that, he reached out to invite me on his podcast, "The Most Interesting People in Logistics."

Back then, FreightCaviar was a newsletter and a dream.

Now it's one of the most recognizable names in logistics media and I'm proud to say that I've watched Paul-Bernard and his team build this from the sidelines for years. The newsletter. The podcast. The community. And now, holding this magazine in my hands, I'm reminded why I love what I do.

We don't just fill roles. We help people build careers that turn into something bigger than any of us imagined.

Congrats Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski and the whole FreightCaviar team. This is just the beginning and I can't wait to see what y'all do next.

The one word that best describes the 2025 hiring market?

Paradox.

Here's why:
👉 Companies said they couldn't find good people.
👉 Candidates said they couldn't get a callback.
✅ Both were frustrated. Both were right.

👉 There were more job seekers than vacant jobs.
👉 But roles still took real effort to fill.
✅ Both things were true at once.

👉 Candidates were pickier about when they moved.
👉 Companies were slower to pull the trigger.
✅ Both sides waited. Both sides lost time.

Now that we're in 2026, the market feels like it's finding its footing.
My prediction? The companies that move decisively in Q1 will win.

The strongest candidates are selective.
