The best clients don’t come from viral posts

They come from the conversations you started 

They come from the trust you built.

They come from the outcome you delivered.


To have great clients stop obsessing over 
going viral. 

Instead build a business that doesn’t need you to be viral.


Start with :

Understanding what is the outcome you can deliver

Understanding what is that you want to be known for.

Understanding who you can serve and why.


Remember : Great clients build great businesses.

Ghosting clients after their final payment.

Is a huge mistake.

I check in with every client I've ever worked with.

Not to sell them something.
But to see how they're doing.

Last week, I reconnected with a client from 1 year ago to see how everything was going. 

He shared he landed an incredible speaking gig because of the brand we built.

It was a proud moment.

And making this habit taught me that:

Every check-in strengthens the relationship.
Every win they share becomes social proof.
Every struggle is a chance to help again.

And yes, many come back.

Not because I pitched them.
But because the trust never left.

So remember your past clients aren't just testimonials. They're your community.

And The relationship doesn't  need to end 
at "thank you for your business."

3 years of building my brand on Linkedin taught me these 3 things:

And here is the thing every post forced me to face something:

Building a personal brand isn’t a luxury.

It’s a necessity.

And yet so many founders with years of experience still hide behind their businesses.

Authenticity isn't a trend. 

It's sharing what's real.

But most people confuse being authentic with oversharing everything.

So let me show you the difference:

Authenticity isn't:
→ Sharing everything
→ Being vulnerable for likes
→ Copying every trend that exists.

Authenticity is:
→ Sharing what's real
→ Being useful with your story
→ Helping someone feel less alone

Trends fade.
Being honest never does.

Remember:
Your audience doesn't need your highlight reel or your trauma dump.

They need your honest perspective.

P.S.  What has stopped you in the past from sharing your story?

"Just be consistent." It's terrible advice. 

Post daily. Show up. Stay visible. Even more vague. 

 Here's what it's important to understand:

Consistency without strategy is just noise.

You can post every day for 3 months. 
But if there's no clarity behind it, nothing happens.

⁃ No DMs.
⁃ No leads.
⁃ No growth.

I've seen it happen.
Founders posting constantly. Getting likes.
But attracting the wrong people. Or no one at all.

Because they were 'consistent' with content.
Instead of being consistent with their message.

What actually works:

→ Know who you're talking to.
→ Know what outcome you offer.
→ Know what you want to be known for.

Then show up with intention.

Consistency builds momentum.
But clarity builds clients.

Remember:
Posting more doesn't mean growing more.
Posting with purpose does.

1. Are you describing what you do or who you help?

"I help entrepreneurs grow their business."

Everyone says this.
No one remembers it.

Your clients aren't in the job title.
They're in the struggle.


2. Is your content sounding like everyone else’s?

Most founders fall into this trap without even noticing.

They share tips.
They post quotes.
They follow trends.

But if you don’t show who you are .  Your content will become boring and vague.


3. Are you speaking to everyone?

I you're afraid to exclude, no one feels seen.

Get specific.

Not "I work with coaches."

"I work with coaches who have the expertise but struggle to explain what makes them different."

4. Are you diversifying your content?

Take a moment to review your last 10 posts.

If they all look and sound the same you are playing it safe.



I made all these mistakes.
I wanted to include everyone.
I wanted to only follow trends.

But I realized that a personal brand is not a people pleasing tool.


Remember:

Your brand doesn't need to reach everyone.
It needs to stop the right someone.

Your ideal clients aren't looking for another flawless expert.

I watch founders polish away everything interesting about themselves.

Hiding their failures.
Editing their struggles.
Then, wonder why no one reaches out.

Your "imperfections" aren't weaknesses to hide.

They're connection points.

That failure you're not sharing? 
Someone needs to hear it.

That vulnerability you're avoiding? 
It's your superpower.

Because perfection creates distance.
Authenticity creates clients.

My first client changed everything.

5 years ago, I was a video producer testing 
if I could coach.

Ran a beta program. 
Similar to what I offer today.
But I was terrified.

She was a full-time YouTuber.
Wanted to build her Instagram strategically.
We worked together for 6 weeks.

By week 3, she said something that changed everything:

"I finally feel proud of what I'm posting."

That moment?
I knew.

This wasn't about content.
It was about strategy and alignment.

5 years and dozens of clients later, I still chase that feeling.

When Stephen stopped trying to be everything to everyone.

When Troy's content finally attracted buyers, instead of ‘ let me think about it’.

When Adam stopped hiding behind his business name.


They didn't just transform their brands.
They transformed how they saw themselves.

My client’s leads were curious, but not ready to invest.

Because no one invests in what they don’t trust.

That’s why when we started working together 

I showed him how his message
was missing his story, his why and the outcome he delivers. 

So we rebuilt everything from scratch.

His audience, his offer, his brand.

In two months, he unlearned what had kept him stuck.

In the third month, he closed seven new clients.

The shift wasn’t in the algorithm.
It was in his identity.

Remember: Before you see results, you have to unlearn what’s holding you back.

Motherhood didn't slow my business.
It made it stronger.
