Y'all know I have had 𝐛̶𝐥̶𝐮̶𝐧̶𝐭̶ things to say about fighter pilots...




And I stand 10 toes down on what I said about the particular ones I have talked about. For context I have brought up the fact that some fighter pilots treat their aircraft maintainers (I was one) like utter 💩 & they weren't real leaders.

I am happy to report, that is not all of them.
Much like any person in a leadership position...some are great, many are not.

All that said, I am proud to work for a former fighter pilot whom I ACTUALLY worked for in the past that was the complete opposite of the fighter pilots whose ego outweighs their leadership capabilities. 

I couldn't work for someone who literally teaches & does keynotes on leadership, accountability, and trust...if I didn't know first hand that he practices what he preaches. 

He doesn't just have a "brand" because he was a cool fighter pilot.
He doesn't just have a "brand" because he battled cancer. 

He has a brand because he LIVES what he PREACHES.

For international women’s day 2026. A good friend of mine posted a woman who had inspired her during her career. I wanted to share and recognize my good friend Brittinay Shaw who is now the Head of Marketing for VMax Group. 

In 2017 I had taken a technician position at Micron Technology which was and is a really good company however I took a significant step down due to loosing a lot of confidence in myself after my injuries in the military causing me to leave the Navy. I was practically starting from zero again which  is hard enough. I kept networking on LinkedIn and Brittinay and I started talking and building each other talking about certifications to take and networking. This led me to taking the leap of jumping back into college to finish my degree.

I took a chance applied for a Quality Control Engineer/Supervisor position in Massachusetts. Continued to work on my degree. In this whole time we kept networking and collaborating online together and motivating each other. Worked through got my degree, then my MBA and then my PMP.

Brittany is a motivator, she is a fighter and inspirational a lot of the times when you are feeling down. I am glad she has been on my side through all these years and that she is doing amazing!
