Last Saturday we attended a very special lady’s milestone birthday where Anne Hegarty from The Chase was a VIP guest. 

5 years ago I was on The Chase where I joined the “I beat the Chaser” club. 

What had started out as a moment of pure madness in applying (from a family dare) turned into a fun and great learning experience 

📺There were lots of phases of auditions. I worked out quickly without a back or sad story I was just a plain nobody so used humour and chat to make myself memorable to the casting crew. 

🥇I didn’t listen to the naysayers (mainly my mum) who said “what if you can’t answer any questions?” “what if you get stage fright” - I was the highest scoring contestant on that show 

😩I realised I do have a calming influence when the last contestant panicked and I thought was going to walk which would have meant our whole show would have been abandoned. Thankfully I (as the person who had gone first I managed with the lovely Bradley to talk her round) 

🤫I had to keep the whole thing a secret for months, which to be fair in my job was not so hard. 

😂I now have one of the more interesting answers to “tell us something we don’t know about you” 

Today is also my birthday (not going to write a list of lessons learnt for each year that would take thousands of words) but I am going to remember that doing crazy things and taking risks can be fun! And even if it all goes wrong, what is the worst that can happen
