Oct. 2024 to present - working in the new Garner hub (which is partly automated) loading brown delivery trucks (assist w/ the "split-sorting" and loading trucks so drivers leave the hub on time); 
from day one, I've tried to promote comradery to keep operations running as smoothly as possible; often, I've taken care of 1/4 of the line where I work until the temps arrive; some of my trucks have 300-400+ pieces;

Oct. 2023 to Oct. 2024 - proved my worth in the Raleigh hub performing various tasks as requested; I also was part of the pre-operational testing at the Garner location; because I frequently was asked to switch to other areas to make sure the trucks were ready for the drivers, I was able to see how other sections operated giving me a clearer vision of the "big picture";

I assist the store manager minimize stock room inventory and assist in unloading the incoming replenishment shipments. We've been able to clear out quite a bit of room in the stock room since both of us started working there. After all, if customers don't see the merchandise, they don't know it's available for sale.
I actually enjoy stocking despite the low pay.
It's good for exercise and a little interaction with customers who need help finding something. 
It's been nice to have my supervisor give me kudos on my work ethic, too.

Because I know just how annoying ads can be on websites, my website doesn't have any. On the studies page, I promote other good Christian resources. I pay the web hosting myself as a labor of love.

As webmaster of BibleBrowse.org, I am not only practicing my web design skills, but promoting peace in this turbulent world. Not only can Christians & Jews collaborate, but all the peaceful religions can work together to show each other respect & love. We need to recognize that none of us are perfect, but with some patience & understanding, we may be able to make this world a better place to live.

Christian multimedia has been added to the site as well as partnerships with other Christian groups to make visible various resources available for people to grow in their walk with God. Over 600 Christian songs (YouTube music videos) are promoted as well as links to The Bible Project animations.

I'm continuously working to improve the cosmetics and content of the website. So, keep checking back for more content.

It was refreshing to be in a work environment where people care about each other and it's generally a friendly place to work. I wish them well.
I fixed laptops, responded to IT requests, maintained iPads, chromebooks, laptops, printers and VoIPs,  verified inventory of IT assets, updated the school website and tweaked an online repair request for the maintenance staff to use. We used Google services for business continuity, and I was familiarized with WordPress and Canva.

I took the Census oath which equates to a Public Trust security clearance but has no expiration date. Any information obtained doing Census interviews stays confidential. 

I've found that although I can't stand sales jobs, I'm actually a personable person who can still get along with just about anyone because I try to treat everyone with respect.

The area where I live is now complete for Census data.

As asst. manager, I was entrusted with:
- preparing cashier till drawers to ensure cashiers have adequate currency for change;
- acting as backup cashier during peak sales times and when cashiers take their required breaks;
- securing and counting the store safe as directed by company policy, including the bank deposit;
- locking the store at closing time & sometimes taking care of the deposit;
- process incoming vendor shipments in SLIC;
- adjust damages & store use items out of inventory;
- treating customers and fellow employees with dignity, kindness and respect;
- recovering stray product and tidying up the store to be presentable;
- unloading the truck and stocking the store with incoming new product;
- assist in stocking at other stores as schedule allows

I take pride in going above what is expected of me & was considered one of the key work contributors on our team.
We have received several compliments on the appearance of our store from customers.

Installation of Cat6 Ethernet cables on a local business expansion project:
- helped run the cable via cable trays, conduits & in "walkable ceiling" areas
- dressed the cables with Velcro tie wraps in the cable trays & in the communication room
- terminated the cat6 cable with punch-down blocks

It was a good bunch of guys to work with. I wish them well in their future endeavors.

Full-time Network Cable Installer (TekServe Contractor)

Starting in the Army, most of my experience has been in IT positions, but I've taken jobs in warehouse environments that actually worked fine for me, too. I enjoyed desktop support but loathe call center work. 

While I was on Active Duty, I taught myself web design which led to my degree in Graphic Web Design. I've used Adobe PhotoShop & Illustrator, but primarily use GIMP when I lost access to my older version of Creative Studios. 

I enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the results of my work which is why I have enjoyed desktop support and web design equally.

Interestingly enough, I had to move on from some jobs because I was too efficient. I like a steady work pace. So, when the workload tapers off, I've often sought out additional tasks to remain productive.
Sometimes, It wasn't conveyed that the position wasn't temp.-to-hire, and I was led to believe I would be transitioning to a full-time position once my task-load was complete.

I worked 21 yrs. for the Army and have been searching for jobs where I can stay just as long.

I look forward to proving my value to the company that hires me and hope it becomes long-term employment.

It's good that my parents were able to retire. Too bad the younger generations won't have that option. Realistically, I expect to work myself into the grave. Whatever the case, I figure there's honor in that.
