What is a “brilliant” book (and why it’s smart to write one) 📚 🙂 A "brilliant" book is much less a product to sell, and much more a relationship-and-results tool created to serve. 

At the same time, it opens the door to conversations that turn into clients, partners and referrals. 

A "brilliant" book is a credibility shortcut and rapport-builder that makes it easier to get in front of your ideal clients or collaborators.  

With a “brilliant” book, you can attract 5- 6- and 7-figures without selling a single book.

(Hint: get them into the hands of your ideal clients, partners, and collaborators.)

A "brilliant" book elevates one’s business and one’s life, without consuming it.

A “brilliant” book can be leveraged at least 43 ways… most of which require minimal-to-no-effort to utilize, many of which directly drive revenue.

Re: beliefs,  cognitive biases, and writing your book (good things to know.)

Specifically that the people you serve, your ideal clients and readers, don’t just need information. 

They need space for possibility. 

They need help shifting their thinking from what’s not possible to what is indeed possible… so they can say yes.

They need to move from disempowering beliefs to empowering beliefs, so they can say yes.

Yes to the business and/or life they actually want.

Yes to change, yes to action, yes to you and what you offer.

Because they understand that you can get them there.

So help people see what's possible.

Help them unpack and release the disempowering beliefs that are holding them back.

Beliefs are stories we tell about ourselves and the world around us. 

We’re meaning-making human beings. That can serve us… and it can also trap us in really poor, unnourishing, unsupportive stories.

So when your reader resists, hesitates, procrastinates, or says “not now,” it’s often not about you. It’s about the beliefs (misperceptions  misunderstandings) that are lying below the surface.

Three kinds of beliefs:

1. Beliefs about the thing you offer.
Example: “Therapy is only for broken people.”

2. Beliefs about themselves.
Example: “I don’t have anything to offer.” “I’m not good enough.”

3. Beliefs about their external situation.
Example: “People won’t pay for this.” “My spouse will never approve.” “What will my family say?” “We’ve never done something like this before.”

Knowing this, here's how to rock it on the pages of your book.

Your job is to contradict conventional thinking, myths, and misunderstandings. Be explicit. Be firm. And also be kind.

Validate why they learned it. Parents. Culture. Religion. TV. The whole deal. 

Help them see: it’s not their fault.
And also… it’s not their fault, but it is their responsibility, if they want something different. 

A different life. Better health. Better relationships. Better business. Bigger impact. 

More people helped.

That’s the moment your book stops being “information” and becomes transformation.

So if you want your book to work, don’t bury this in chapter 9. Put it at the front of your book.

Because if your reader/ideal client doesn't believe it’s possible, it doesn’t matter how good your strategy is. They won’t use it.

So show them what’s possible. Show them how to make their dream come true in their business or life… or both.

And do it in the pages of your book.
