As Internal Audit Specialist, I Managed Financial & Operational Audits for Etisalat Group’s Subsidiary “Etisalat Services Holding (including its business units). Etisalat Services Holding (ESH) controls 7 operating entities/units provides a range of telecom and related services to Etisalat-UAE and other external entities.

Key area of responsibilities include following:

-Lead, plan, executes and report Financial and Operational internal audits in accordance with Risk-Based Audit Approach, IIA’s Internal Auditing Standards and Guidelines, best industry-practices and maintaining independence, objectivity and confidentiality at all times.

- Review business areas (i.e. Finance, ERM, HR, Admin, Sales, Procurement, Compliance, and Governance).

- Prepare Risk control matrix (RCM), Audit programme for business areas ensuring that all known risks are covered.

- Perform fieldwork and documenting papers according to auditing standards for robust evidence supporting findings and recommendations.

- Prepares draft reports on audit activities and findings, progress in implementing agreed recommendations and overall assessment of control environment.

- Assist HOD in developing and maintaining annual risk assessment audit plan. Annual audit plan focused on the review of high-risk business areas identified during risk identification and business unit risk assessment exercise.

- Build relationships with key stakeholders to stay at the forefront of changes to the business and to promote the value of internal audit.

- Maintain an Internal Audit quality assurance and improvement program, to conform to international professional practices framework (IPPF) for streamlining Internal Audit activities and deliverables.

- Maintaining audit file in audit management software (TeamMate)

Internal Audit Specialist - Managing Financial & Operational Audits

My work focused on conducting internal audits under supervision of Sr. Manager and Group Head of the Internal Audit. 
Based in the corporate office, I conducted regular audits of all business units and departments of Finance House Group and Group Subsidiaries.

My basic responsibilities included:

1. Interacting with stakeholders of various departments for audit purposes;
2. Risk Based Audit Planning;
3. Performing risk assessment of key business activities;
4.Assessing emerging risks through interviews, research, training etc;

HBL - Habib Bank Limited

•  Regular reviews of Bank branches to evaluate branch operations and internal control environment.                     
•  To ensure complete documentation of Bank’s policies procedures and processes.
•  Carry out surprise cash Audits during visit of the branches.
•  Identifying the gaps between current practice by the branches and Bank’s policies and procedures.
•  Carry out physical inspection of Fixed Assets of the organization to ascertain that all Assets are  book in fixed assets ledger and install as per the company defined policies.
•  Verifying existence of commercial clients by collecting documents and supporting papers to ascertain if they are genuine and to ensure that there is no deviation from the license activities.
•  Advising and Training branch staff members to ensure compliance with regularity framework.
•  Preparing the Internal control review plan with head of department.
•  Collecting and documenting audit evidences to support the audit conclusion.
•  Prepare analysis of the testing conducted and reporting to the senior managers.

•  Plan financial, compliance or operational reviews/audits
•  Perform audit procedures to verify that controls are operating through testing and interviewing   techniques.
•  Financial Statement and business Analysis to support decision making by the management.
•  Purchases to payable cycle internal control review to identify control weaknesses and implementing and defining policies and procedures to reduce control risk.
•  Verification of expenses against budgetary controls and validating occurrence and accuracy.
•  Scrap sale process review and setting up a formal procedure to ensure transparency and competitiveness.

•  Import/Export documentation review and expenses verification.
•  Complex Inter-company accounts balance reconciliation on quarterly basis.
•  Undertook direct labor payroll analysis for Shoe manufacturing division; checking the spectrum of activities pertaining payroll and management reporting.
•  Reviewing compliance and ensuring that organization is adhering to rules, codes or practice, business ethics and internal guidelines.
•  Recommendation of policies & procedures to improve internal controls.
•  Coordination with ERP (Oracle-R12) department for the development of Reports for  management reporting purpose.
•  Surprise stock take at multiple places on L&F retail outlets, raw material storeroom and finish goods stores
•  Preparing reports on findings and recommendation regarding inventory handling.
•  Prepare and present reports that reflect audit’s results and document process.
