Through this work, Steven became a social media influencer (0 - 1m+ follower growth across platforms) and global public speaker leading to national PR, TV & Radio for himself & Social Chain, commercial deals with Huawei & Adobe and being named as 'The Most Influential Person In The Industry' by Econsultancy.

TREND: Companies will start paying their teams to post on LinkedIn.

12 months ago I made what sounded like a wild claim and said that I think companies should pay their team a bonus for posting on LinkedIn.

It came from hearing the same question over and over from founders: 

“How do I get my team to care about posting?”

And what’s always been a reliable incentive for human behaviour?

Money.

Some people will say it’s “inauthentic.”
But in my experience, the hardest part is going from posting nothing to posting something.

It’s the first step that stops 90% of people.
Once someone takes that step, everything gets easier.

So if a small bonus helps someone take that first leap? I think it’s smart.

Some will argue that it would be abused at times but the upside outweighs the downside. 

You build a culture where people show up online.
And that changes everything for a business from employer brand to sales, recruitment, all of it.

It wouldn’t surprise me to see more instances like this where budgets are allocated and bonuses given that incentivise teams to post on LinkedIn. 

It feels like companies are starting to realise:

Your people are one of your most valuable distribution channels for your brand.

I might be biased, but personal brand is genuinely one of the highest-return, lowest-activated channels inside most companies.
