Hi, I’m Angela – thanks for visiting my profile!

I’m an experienced educator and passionate advocate for reimagining education in ways that are immersive, inclusive, engaging, and truly human-centered.

As Head of Curriculum at Salty Sharks, I develop holistic, future-ready learning resources that complement our immersive virtual worlds. In partnership with PBL Futurelabs I create AI-enhanced project-based learning experiences that spark curiosity, critical thinking, and real-world action.

We’re proud to support schools, homeschoolers, and micro-schools with flexible, engaging content that meets curriculum outcomes while nurturing empathy, creativity, and global citizenship.

Our platform empowers learners to explore topics like marine conservation, STEM, history, human biology and global citizenship through self-directed, gamified challenges, offering an inspiring alternative to traditional education models. 

I’ve recently developed ocean-themed SEL resources for Salty Sharks that support emotional resilience, mindfulness, and well-being through calming, nature-based activities. The aim is also to help students connect with marine life more so they better understand, value, and want to protect it.


We’re currently helping students across Australia, the UK, the US and beyond engage in immersive learning, and have partnered with a growing network of schools, homeschool communities, and global educators who share our vision.


I’m originally from Northern Ireland, where I taught for many years and since have taught across multiple states  in Australia, a place I now call home. 

I’m very passionate about social & emotional learning, student voice, and truly believe that education should be as much about well-being and purpose as it is about academic success.

I’m proud to be a founding member of the Human Intelligence Movement, aligning with their mission to prepare students for an AI-driven future by amplifying the uniquely human skills of empathy, creativity, and collaboration.

At Salty Sharks, students don’t just read about the respiratory system, they step inside it with curiosity. 🫁💫

Our 3D interactive virtual world becomes the launchpad for hands-on learning and real-world application.

Inside our Respiratory System Virtual World, students explore the body from the inside out:

• travel through the trachea
• visit the alveoli up close
• become a red blood cell, navigating arteries in our oxygen-delivery mini-game

When students experience how the body works, curiosity naturally turns into project-based learning, not just remembering facts, but exploring issues that shape their lives.



🚨 Vaping — a Growing Concern in Schools & Communities

Our 3D virtual worlds become a powerful launchpad for deeper health education.
Students don’t just hear warnings, they explore how the respiratory system works and begin to connect science with their own wellbeing.

That’s why we created a Health Education PBL Pathway. 
It moves beyond awareness and helps students shift from science → empathy → informed decision-making and action.



💡 PBL Preview: Breathe Deep — Student Health Advocates

Driving Question:
How can we use science, curiosity and empathy to help our community better understand vaping and lung health?

Students explore:
🧠 What happens in the lungs during vaping
🫁 How alveoli and oxygen exchange are affected
💬 Mixed messages in media & marketing
📊 Trends in their school or community
🫶 Why empathy matters in health conversations

Possible outcomes:
• Awareness campaign or short podcast
• “Walk Through the Lungs” exhibition using virtual world screenshots
• Health workshop for younger grades
• Findings presented to wellbeing or leadership teams

Students follow a full design cycle:
Explore → Research → Design → Create → Share → Reflect


When learning feels real, students don’t just understand the content, they step forward as advocates, decision-makers and leaders of their own health.
