last week disappeared and gave me everything that matters

last week got away from me.
in the best… and strangest… possible way.

it was my daughter’s 3rd birthday
which, if you’ve ever met a three-year-old,
is basically a high holy day of cake and chaos.

then my house flooded.
i’m moving.

life decided to throw the full trilogy at me in one week.
so everything stopped.

work. calls. “productivity”.

the whole machine froze.
and honestly?

It was worth every second.
birthdays at that age aren’t just parties 
they’re proof that time is moving

that they’re growing
that somehow you’re keeping them alive
whilst still feeling like a mildly organised teenager yourself.

The flood, the boxes, the delays 
they’re all reminders too.

life isn’t a content plan.
it spills, it derails, it drenches you.

I am unbelievably lucky.

I don’t have a boss breathing down my neck.
I don’t have to ask permission
to go and be a dad.

A lot of people do.
and we forget that.

this week —
with soggy floors, balloon strings,
and my daughter yelling “again!” at a sparkler

I remembered why i built my life this way.

not for money.
not for status.
but for moments.

for the ability to slam the brakes on work
when life taps you on the shoulder and says,
“this bit… this bit right here… this is the point.”

last week ran off without me.
but it ran in the right direction.
and i’m grateful it did.

All the stories you tell yourself that stop you doing what you actually need to do.

Step 5 — Admit to someone you trust that you’ve been faking productivity.
Confess the tab-hoarding. the browser-based shame.

Step 6 — Become entirely ready to stop saying yes to everything.
Especially “quick calls”. they’re never quick.

Step 7 — Humbly ask the universe to remove your imposter syndrome.
Not because you don’t have it, but because you’re too good for it.

Step 8 — Make a list of people you’ve ghosted including yourself.

Step 9 — Make amends where possible.
Send the email.N finish the draft. respond to the invoice before it haunts you.

Step 10 — Continue to take personal inventory.
once a week is enough. daily is masochism.

Step 11 — Seek clarity, not inspiration.
inspiration is flaky. clarity is loyal.

Step 12 — Carry this message to other founders.
help the ones drowning in Trello boards and motivational quotes.

Because recovery isn’t just spiritual sobriety,
it’s honesty, humility, and knowing when to shut your laptop.

It’s a billion people
shouting through a keyhole.

All of us pressing our faces to the glass.
Miming insight. 

Hoping someone on the other side mistakes volume for value.

full of clever people

Its all signalling, not competence, but the story of competence.

Not value, but the appearance of value.

Peacocks with Wi-Fi and Canva.

A spiritual vacuum with a bio section.

Identity is reduced to job titles
and the soul is edited for character limits.

And yet… here we are.

Because sometimes, between the hot takes,
the “thrilled to announce”s and humblebrags........

something real slips through.

A human voice.
A dangerous truth.

A moment that isn’t optimised.

That’s the only bit worth keeping.

A... well.... thats why I hang around. Mostly.
